Können wir hier vlt. alle bisschen Werbung für ein seit 22 Jahren bestehendes antifaschistisches DIY-Festival in Mittel-/Oberhessen machen? Ab morgen, also 21. - 22.08.2026, findet das Voices From The Streets zum 21. in Deckenbach bei Homberg/Ohm statt! Bisher nur Werbung auf FB und IG. Hin da!!!

Im Vordergrund steht eine geöffnete Kühlschranktür, die mit zahlreichen farbigen Bandlogos und Schriftzügen beklebt ist. Oben befindet sich ein Schild mit der Aufschrift 'VOICES 21 FROM THE STREETS'. Links sind die Termine 'FREITAG 21. AUGUST' und 'SAMSTAG 22. AUGUST' in auffälligen Farben zu sehen, darunter die Namen verschiedener Bands. Rechts sind die Uhrzeiten 'AB 19:00' und 'AB 15:30' angegeben. New concert dates are up everywhere! This Saturday: Voices From The Streets 21 in Homberg‑Deckenbach, 3:30 p.m. Sept 5: our first unplugged gig. Sept 19: back on stage with Delta Komplex in Offenbach. Shows are all in central west Germany (Hesse region) and pay‑what‑you‑want. Oct 31 details soon.

... There’s no real hostility between metal fans and other subcultures here. People know there are hardly any venues where a band like ours can play, and besides, the DIY spirit and support for the local scene are very strong. Even if it means having to annoy some people, sure. 😁 ... 4/x

Just some thoughts about our local scene: I think what's really special about the, I'd say, "Central Hesse alternative music scene" around the towns of Giessen, Marburg and Wetzlar in Germany is: Most of it really is metal (sub)genre based. ... 1/x

#6 (May 24th, 2026) It's an Ok feedback, even though I don't exactly understand what's wrong with the mix(ing). Makes me wonder if our songs will ever get placed in bigger playlists. It's not wavy enough, not electronic or hard enough, too long, not catchy enough.

A single line of text reads: 'I just wasn't fully into mixing in definition of fun, but I enjoyed dark atmosphere created by aggressive guitars, tunes full of energy and emotional vocals, and I really appreciate this submission.'

Wenn ich bewusst bei den Bands darauf achte, wie viele Parts sie in Songs haben und dann mit unseren vergleiche, haben wir mindestens 1, 2 mehr. Und wir machen ja nicht Progressive Rock. Manches könnte dafür repetitiver sein, Gesang früher, aber nicht so viel. Bisschen (no) waviger auch... 2/2

Ok, nee, bei dem Song hieße das schon, wir müssten etwas am Aufbau ändern oder die Lyrics kürzen. Und das ist ein No-Go. Wir haben uns aber schon vorgenommen kürzere Songs zu schreiben. Natürlich hat der Vibe oder Flow Priorität vor der Songlänge. Aber manchmal reichen 2 oder 3 Parts auch aus. 1/2

#5 (May 24th, 2026) Let me put it this way: I wouldn't be opposed to having our releases remastered by another engineer. Our mixing and mastering engineer would be okay with that, too, but this is fine as it is. This is really the first time anyone has ever said something like that to us.

A highlighted word 'decline' appears in a block of text. The message thanks the recipient for sharing music, compliments the melodies, harmonies, and vocals, but states that the overall production quality sounds more like a demo than a polished and mastered track. The sender explains that they will decline the track for this reason, clarifies that this is a subjective opinion as playlist curators, and encourages future submissions.

Ich kann beides aus DJ-Sicht verstehen. Als Hörer, ja, kann sein. Das ist Geschmackssache. Ich persönlich checke meistens den ganzen Song aus, oder skippe zu verschiedenen Stellen und dann nochmal von Vorne, weil ich das Gesamtwerk anhören möchte. Aber die Leute haben kaum Aufmerksamkeitsspanne.

#3 (May 23rd, 2026) That's one way of saying "you sound outdated". I really like Twin Tribes and ACTORS, but they're on two different points on the post-punk/coldwave/darkwave-scale, I would say. Maybe the curator hasn't heard a lot of other bands. Or he/she just doesn't get our style.

#2 (May 8, 2026) The hook part, I'm not sure about that, though. I mean, it doesn't "jump" directly into your ears, but the "And the night lasted forever" part is a hook. It always depends on the curator or the other songs in the playlist. This one consists more of "mainstream" kinda songs.

The performances are great and this has a lot of great vibes and ideas. However the long intros don't work for our curation - it often leads to high skip rates.
