I dunno how they do it when their signature is a speedrun and doesn't resemble actual letters anymore. I have to write my eight letters out nice and slow.

I've been meaning to post an update here for a while, and never got around to it until now. I've still been working on Any% KPDR, but basically took June off due to an eye infection. It's cleared up enough to be doing runs again, and yesterday, I somehow managed to PB in spite of slow/slow Phantoon.

"What would you be bringing to the table that isn't 'wow' and 'oh I love that'?" A lot actually, ma'am. "That was decent", for example. Or even "I could've done that a bit better." I provide valuable insight people could only dream about having. She can stay flabbergasted and bootyblasted.

Decent first half, gross second half, but a good step forward nonetheless, especially since this is only my 8th completed run of this Any% route. I should be streaming more attempts this weekend, and then frequently throughout the first half of May, life permitting.

I was tired of failing air dopplers in this category, so I spent a few hours conjuring up personal methods for a 1st-round X-Factor on Phantoon. After doing so, this run happened. Stream VoD (splits, mic, inputs): www.twitch.tv/videos/24389... Raw recording (4k HD): www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIRA...

My goal for now is to at least achieve a 42, but ideally one that yields a 00:27 IGT (~42:55). I'm currently streaming on Twitch during Wednesday & Thursday afternoons, as those are my days off. If you get the chance, come say hi!

On my most recent stream, I finished two runs - my first was a 44:36, tying the legend Ivan, and the next was a 43:51, which is currently 11th and a solid place to start. Stream VoD (splits, mic, input display): www.twitch.tv/videos/24297... Raw recording (4k HD): www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0LH...

I've been working on Any%, the KPDR route ("old route"), for the past six weeks, and have finally forced myself into doing attempts. I'm a special snowflake in that I've never done runs of KPDR before, the category/route most runners start with, but I thought it'd be fun to try now.

With this, I'm done with NG+ indefinitely. Currently working on learning Any% KPDR (goal: 42), streaming every Wednesday and Thursday. Hoping to start runs early next month, but given that I've never done this route before, it might take me a bit longer to feel comfortable with everything.

Are there areas that are crudely blocked off by yellow tape or flimsy "barricades" that you should logically be able to surpass with mild effort? Or is it stuff like switches and actual objects?

Thank you so much! It's been a fun month, for sure. This run was beyond timely, as I had even said this would be my last attempt before moving on to another category. I'd dare say this is my strongest SM run at the moment. Definitely wasn't perfect, but I can still happily retire from NG+ now. 😊

I'm gonna give it another stream session, maybe a few more, to see if I can improve this at all further. But if unsuccessful, I'm still okay with this current run for the most part. I can always come back later and go for 23.

I'm going to try to snag one more personal best in NG+ (not-all-bosses). After that, I think I'm gonna play Any% KPDR for the first time ever, hopefully culminating in a 42. I'm hoping that it'll be a fresh, fun experience.

I did a fun little thing and spliced together a run made entirely out of my "best splits" from my Any% grind last year. My SoB (and thus, this splice) ended up being ~40:30.4 using 7 total splits, which I think is alright considering what I did and didn't 'go for'. www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4J6...

I've never done KPDR so I'm curious to see what kind of progression I go through with it, but 42 is the big milestone there and I think I can get one if I try hard enough.

Ov @ov-vip.bsky.social · 25/01/2025

Thank you! My plan is to do this for a little longer, then I might try Any% KPDR for a 42 perhaps. Not sure. Low% at some point after though.
