Moray was named after Glen Moray single malt, and he treated us to a 15 year old one on the occasion of his 15th birthday earlier this year. So we've raised a large glass to him tonight. Oidhche mhath, a bhalach brèagha. #HikingWithDogs #DogsOfMastodon #Kelpie

Recent visit to Leeds, tracked down the headstone for my great x7 grandparents, Marmaduke Rodgers (1683-1755) and Sarah (Scott) Rodgers (d 1735), at St Bartholomew's Armley. Impressed with the condition of the stone, it's 290 years old. Shame that most of the […] [Original post on mastodon.scot]

This path at Glenmore always reminds me of one of those medieval dramas like Merlin, or Robin of Sherwood, this is exactly the location where we are about to be ambushed. 😮 But I have my doggie to protect me 🐾🐾 #CairngormsNationalPark #Glenmore #Scotland #DogsOfMastodon #HikingWithDogs #Kelpie

There’s a group of 5 Corbetts just north of Tyndrum, Moray and I did most of them earlier in the year but missed out Beinn Odhar as it was just too hot. So we went back yesterday to do it, straight up and down from the A82. One disadvantage of doing Corbetts is […] [Original post on mastodon.scot]

Beautiful bridge o'er the silv'ry Tay. Alas! I am very sorry to say. A lighting column has collapsed into the way. With delays expected until half past nine. Which will be remember'd for a very long time. Sorry 🫣

Ben Rinnes is a distinctively shaped hill, always in the view from the Northern Cairngorms, & has always been on my to-do list. Today we did it. Lovely bright sunshine, but the wind was baltic, and from the south so we had no shelter from it at all, apart […] [Original post on mastodon.scot]
