I looked into your examples. Jeffries opposed the ICE funding bill, and even if he’d whipped every Democrat against it, Republicans still had the votes to pass it. The Massie amendment failed overwhelmingly, and Jeffries publicly explained his objections to its language. /1

I understand your frustration, but I think we need to distinguish between political leadership and the actual authority Jeffries has. He can’t control how senators vote, and I don’t think it’s reasonable to hold him accountable for decisions that aren’t his to make.
