We've been quiet lately. We're on our last leg of this Bahamas journey. Currently safely tied up at a marina on Green Turtle Cay until we get a good weather window to cross back to the states. Until then. We have nothing to do but soak it in.

Our trip back to the US and north starts now. We have a window to cross "the whale" so we're taking it. We will wait out weather and whatever else over the next few weeks as we pick a window to cross back to the states.

Hope Town Harbour had a lovely light show last night and luckily there's been no reported boat strikes. Nymeria, one of the masts on the right, enjoyed the gentle rain and light breeze that accompanied the show. Thanks to S/V Summer Salt for the Pic! @shannonerickson.me @larakin.systems

We've been hunkered down in 25+kts of wind for the last few days. We're over it. Nymeria has been holding well with 100ft of chain, but we had to help rescue our neighbors this morning because they were dragging. Supposed to settle down tonight. 🤞

Cruisers are the best. Last night, all the boats at this anchorage got together and had a bonfire on the beach. Fun for all. Today, as I'm making water so we can stay longer, our water-maker pump failed. Dinghy over to neighbors boat that we met last night, and sure enough he had a spare part.

We found a glorious downwind weather window to take us all the way from St. Augustine to Fort Pierce, FL. We completed 166 nm in 29 hours, averaging 5.6 knots which was not too bad for us in light winds. We're going to be in this area until we have a window to cross over to the Bahamas!

Rough day... Nobody really talks about the bad days of cruising. It started last night with our scheduled marina deciding we were not allowed to dock between 1-7pm, and not to dock after dark. So we scrambled and left at 5am so we could make "something"

We're heading out tomorrow (mid-morning) for an offshore trip to Savannah, GA. It will be a chilly 140nm run down the coast for about 28 hours. We're hoping to be faster than that since we're predicted to have a good, steady north wind with relatively calm waves from behind.
