When Trump watches Les Mis and he hears "Do you hear the people sing?" does he skip to the "angry men" part of the song?

An ask esp for politicians: please do not use the Filipino community's grief for your campaign or political agenda. I know tomorrow is voting day but it's barely been 24 hrs. We appreciate expressions of solidarity and support, but we also need the time and space to grieve & make sense of all this.

For this week's tutorials in my games class, I'm going to ask my TA to run the Sims 4 homeless challenge with this sim. My students will have a lot of fun with unhoused "Elon Husk." 😆 #sorrynotsorry

It's a good day when one hears about Rodrigo Duterte being arrested.

When one delivers a lecture on propaganda in one's Intro to Communication Studies class and political ads keep popping up on one's embedded online videos. Ppt just had to block me from clicking the skip button. Hilariously, this actually helped drive my point about the TOTAL part of propaganda.

When your phone's AI brief tells you to "enjoy a restful and peaceful night" but puts tariff news on the same page. Yeah, I don't think it understands what "restful" means...

How should one carefully phrase one's lunar new year greetings and wishes this year esp. with incoming tariffs and a recession? Because wishing someone to get rich as per the usual standard greeting right now would sound and feel a little weird. (1/2)

Trump's jokes on annexing Canada are especially not funny as a Filipina living in Canada. America occupied the Philippines in 1899 and that resulted in the Philippine-American war. Please, America. Not this again.

Because it was review bombed, I almost did not see LOTR: War of the Rohirrim. I'm glad I did because it was actually good. Not perfect, but good. Even as a fantasy film, it's an interesting take on how women's stories tend to get erased in favor of "great men." I'm happy I saw it.

Watching Pulang Araw, I notice that the opening montage features Ben&Ben's Kapangyarihan. People should also remember that this song was written in protest to extrajudicial killings in the Duterte regime not too long ago. www.nme.com/news/music/b...

Ben&Ben share new song ‘Kapangyarihan’ and statement condemning police brutality

Ben&Ben have shared a song ‘Kapangyarihan’, written in response to the killing of Sonya and Frank Gregorio by a policeman in Tarlac, Philippines.

GMA's Pulang Araw (Red Sun) made me read about Filipino vaudeville or bodabil because several of the main characters are bodabil performers in the Second World War. Apparently, these were based on the stories of Suzette Doctolero's (the head writer) grandparents who were vaudeville performers. (1/2)

Today at CMNS 110 (Intro to Communication Studies) is the day that I get to use years of karaokeing for teaching. It's culture and creative industries week. We had a bit when we were discussing CRTC in the 1990s and conversations on "Canadian content." (1/3)

I wonder: how fast can Dragon Age modders mod Veilguard to create a multiple romance mod this time? I know it's not a matter of "if" but "when."

First post. Enjoying Veilguard so far. I have some critiques on certain choices related to how the game sees multicultural characters but honestly, some of the other options I've seen (well, so far) including one related to gender identity are actually not too bad.
