My worst experiences of commissioning art is mainly recieving no honest communication and the time tables always being pushed back. The longest I've waited for a comm was 2 years and 3 months. I've had MANY comms take 3-6+ months, time where I ask myself 'I could have found someone else to do this'.

Moral of the story: Pick your artists to do commissions, do not accept artists that ask to do commission work. Also, make sure the artist has a good portfolio that aligns with your standards.

I've been duped with some bad commissions as well so I can relate and these were people that asked me if they wanted commissions. I've learned to pick your artists for commissions which I have saved some great ones that I could commission on DeviantArt.
