A round platypus wearing a chef's hat writes the menu on a blackboard atop the desk. In the back, a counter table and chairs are set, and fresh flowers gleam on the tabletop.

On pink paper, the title "Jack's Cooking House Spring" and the author's name "Takimoto Sumeshi" are printed. A "silent comic" icon appears alongside a large illustration depicting an expressionless platypus wearing a chef's hat and apron, engaged in cooking.

I'm Japanese, but as a fellow human being, my heart aches.I lose sight of what justice truly is. We fall into mutual distrust, fight, and only the lives of innocent civilians are disregarded... The use of force brings no benefits whatsoever.

As a fellow human being, my heart aches at the horrors happening now. What is right, world?

Takimoto Sumeshi @osushidesign.bsky.social · 02/03/2026

Everyone believes their own limited perspective is justice, and in wanting to hold onto that belief, they sometimes try to forcefully twist differing opinions. But we must not forget that there were lives and hearts that never got to see the same dawn as us. We must not take them lightly.

Last night, watching the world news, I wondered, "Why do people wage war?" Then, as I picked up an empty glass from my desk to take it to the kitchen, a mosquito flew into the rim of the glass. It annoyed me, so I swatted it dead. And somehow, I also thought, "Is that why war never ends?"

I can't speak English, but I'd like to learn languages other than my native tongue (Japanese) to communicate with people from other countries. I rely heavily on DeepL for translations. Native speakers, is this translation correct?

Hey there! It's a handmade zine. I'm drawing comics right now. #ZINE #artist #artwork #risograph

The book title "Weekend Taxi: Takimoto Sumeshi" is printed in navy blue on gray paper, accompanied by an illustration of a taxi.

Three vertical stitches of orange embroidery thread are sewn along the spine of multiple bundles of paper.

On the desk lie a sewing box, blue and gray embroidery floss, a green cutting mat, and two book covers: one printed with the words "Sitting in a chair that doesn't fit" in orange lines and a child's photo, and another with the book title "Weekend Taxi" in navy on a gray background alongside a taxi illustration. The scene depicts the creation of an unfinished zine.
