It's alive! This dog-end of ginger was enjoying the warmth of my green bin so much she's started to sprout. I've grown ginger plants from supermarket root before, so I'll pot her up. If she'd not been at the top of the bin, I'd have missed her.

Batch of @nigella.bsky.social's slime soup made. I know it's not yet Halloween, and I'm certainly not a child but it's such a good & easy soup. I added gruyere rinds left over from a fondue for a bit of umami depth, and fished them out before blitzing.

Red legacy throws have been replaced with a new spruce colour wool one from Hyde & Hair. Pleased with how it ties with the Morris & Co rug I bought last month. The greens work with the pink walls (masquerade mid).

Indoor horticulture, repotting most of the plants I rehomed - into smaller, more appropriately sized containers, taking tradescantia cuttings, & discovering why her Callathea wasn't looking well (spider mites). Now quarantined in the utility🏥 , with my Alocasia that has them. Treating tomorrow 🕷️ 🔫

Fence finished before tomorrow's rain - and done with my left hand too (one of several things I now use it for). Looks a bit better, and matches the one I painted with my right 14 years ago that's still looking tidy (I may have given it a scrub down in the interim but still!) 👍

Solved the dining room, moved the sideboard to the far wall and turned the table 90 degrees so the long axis goes across the room. It feels more like a dining room than a corridor to the lower extension 👍

That rough sawn fence is thirstier than some of you lot! 🤣 Before someone points it out, yes, I've not done the top bit. I need to get a 2nd, and possibly 3rd coat on before it fully cures so I'm concentrating on the main panels today 😉 Country cream, posts & rails will be wild thyme 👍
