Could've Gooseworx done a better job making the story of Jax more explicit? Could she done a better job at representing Boymoders? Could she have made Jax more of a Sneedhon? Sure, but that doesn't take away from a queer person getting the privilege to give representation to a trans women...

Image example of a Boymoder in digital illustration of a nervous, blushing anime-style character with brown hair playing a video game. They are wearing a dark turtleneck sweater featuring the word "boy" with a male gender symbol written in red. The simple portrait is set against a solid dark blue background.

Zooble: "You know that shit is rotting out your brain, right?"

Jax: "(uses transphobic slur)."

The image depicts Jax browsing 4chan.

This was the same global reaction to the final TADC episode. And I still see fallout from that finale. Bc people's "Tumblr Sexy Man"/"shitty maleself insert" was an explicitly queer trans woman, with deep internalized transphobia and self projection issues.

Outside of news: Read "Japan's Anime Revolution" if you want to know the theatrical history of the anime business from Johnathan Clements.

Interesting, all I knew was Hidive had an exclusively deal for the title. TMS has a lot of complete anime on their YouTube channel. I'm curious to see what is the incentive in this and if more titles go this route for consumers and viewers.

For what it is. I really like it. And I wish this older classic that's not available legally, gets the light of day of being officially licensed with maybe an English dub. If you may like Cutie Honey, Go Negai, Sailor Moon, or magical girl in general. I'd recommend this anime to everyone! ❤️

The music for the anime is great, I really enjoy the characterization of characters in the anime. I really enjoy the series visual language as it's a nice mid-cross from the beautiful style of sailor moon but with a more of a boyish edge to art style.

With the series directly following the end of Sailor Moon Stars. With its director working on many episodes of the franchise. But I wouldn't forgive myself if I hadn't mentioned it.

I'm not shocked that this is where the service kills itself. It's not the accessible service that got me into anime, let alone the same company.

Based on the information from Dubbing Wikia this was a CPM dub. And it feels like it, due to the incredible production values in the dub track, and character performances from the actors.

I am just getting around to starting Turn A Gundam. I'm still determined to finish as many shows if possible, although likely I may start reviewing some anime that I may have partially completed, by the end of the year.

Plan to watch anime 2025 collage, with Yukikaze, Tower of Druaga, Otoboku, Vampire Hunter D, GITS SAC 2nd gig, and Tsukihime crossed out. With Tokyo Babylon, Gojinko Monogatari, Outlaw Star, and Nadia The Secret of Blue Water circled. With other anime not marked. With the marks indicated the anime completed and the series started.

Melt is so silly since his mage staff is literally super powered golf clubs. He's also a complete self obsessed, asshole and I hate his guts. 😭 I don't know how Coopa can deal with him.

Jil was formally a member of his older brother's crew, but who gets kicked out and wrapped up with the supposed assassination of the king of Uruk, Gilgamesh. He teams up with Kai and Kaaya. To clear his name, and attempt to defeat creature Druaga. Later, mages Melt and Coopa, join our crew.

Tower of Drugs: The Aegis of Urk, is the most late 00s to early 2010s fantasy anime ever. Done by the studio Gonzo who were in their prime in this period. Releasing in the 2008 Spring season of seasonal shows, and exists as Crunchyroll's first officially licensed anime. It's a great overall anime.

I am thinking now that Fate was likely an attempt to corner the fujoshi market initially, due to the fact that Shirou Emiya was originally a female protagonist. Tsukihime focuses on the protection of Shiki by the women around him. With Fate likely being a reversal on that narrative, initially.

Not to fail to mention, the series has an interesting take on AI and androids, imo, Time of Eve has a better exploration of whatever the manga was trying to do with their concept of "Gijin" (ai synthezoid). And there's spectacular color pages!

Shojo Null was an interesting read. It felt like a rollercoaster, although not in a good way, in the way the series presented its narrative. There's good cliff hangers, a great sci-fi world, and good action. Overall a solid 6-7/10, and Marie is best girl!
