If these people could find a way to block out the sunlight and sell it back to you as a subscription, they absolutely would.

This is like saying someone sees you smoking a cigarette and ponders if that's an SOS smoke signal. And what is that other airgapped computer gonna do about it? If it "interprets" that the other one is trying to communicate? Get hot in return? Is this a serious suggestion or bad smut?

NEW: We spent months investigating a little-known media startup called Brown Brothers Media, which buys legit news sites and turns them into AI-powered zombie content farms What blew my mind was its traffic -- it appears to be getting more readers than NPR or CBS News futurism.com/artificial-i...

Hear ye, hear ye! I have updated the mediagraphy for critical tech and "AI" sources. I'm not finished, but I'm on vacation with my family so I will pick up the slack next week. Stay tuned, much more is coming! If you have suggestions, don't hesitate to send me a missive.

Mediagraphy of AI and Big Tech critical sources
One of the biggest obstacles I face in my fight against the scourges that are generative AI, Big Tech and other fascist-leaning clankers, is that most people aren’t aware of all the critical literatur...

New: President Donald Trump's broad rollbacks of federal greenhouse gas rules since January 2025 have altered the trajectory of US energy use and helped set back cuts to planet-warming pollution by about a decade. Gift link @bloomberg.com: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Trump's Climate Rollbacks Will Keep US Emissions Higher for Longer
Combined with earlier EPA deregulatory moves, this week’s repeal of power plant rules is set to alter the nation’s emissions trajectory.

Leftists, totally not fed up with having their demands for social justice sidelined by political consultants in favor of a spineless strategy of chasing brain-fried "moderates" who are actually just conservatives. I'm sure they'll fall in line this time, Jacobin.

I know this'll ruffle feathers but I agree with this Food/Water watch analysis. Diverting renewable energy away from fossil phase-out and climate adaptation and towards melting graphics card to power chatbots is the formal end of moral purpose for clean technology.
Data Centers With Renewables Aren’t the Answer
So all these power plants and “temporary” turbines are raising power prices and polluting our communities. Why don’t we just power data centers with renewables?

Many data center companies are pledging to (eventually) do just that. But even if these pledges weren’t just empty greenwashing promises, powering data centers with clean energy is utterly unrealistic. It also threatens the progress of our already dangerously slow energy transition.

Continuously powering a 1 GW data center would require nearly 20,000 acres of solar panels or 185,000 acres of onshore wind power. We cannot afford to waste the time, space, or money to build renewables for Big Tech’s profit machines.

Already, data center growth is outstripping available renewable energy supply and redirecting renewables from other industries. It’s drawing urgently needed renewables from existing technologies and resources. We need to focus our renewable energy resources toward thos

What, an Anthropic researcher states (without evidence) that there is a 10% chance that AI will cause human extinction? Incredible, we have never before heard such a claim!

You’ve gotta use AI because it’s the future. But also it’ll take your job. But also it’ll create a paradise on earth and solve most of our problems. But also it’ll end humanity soon. But also you’ll get left behind if you don’t use it right now.
