From a discussion I just had with someone struggling with their art making

Focus is a skill, not a trait. You get more focus XP from re-centering on what you were doing when you catch yourself mid distraction.

However, berating yourself and punitively forcing a re-centering actually wastes a bunch of AP/PP for no reason.

It takes a lot less effort to acknowledge the distraction, then looking over what you were drawing and getting re-excited for what the artistic goal with it is so you can engage with it with enthusiasm. That's the actual way to do focus reps and build that skill.

And that process will look different for people based on details like various neurodiversity traits, but you can always look for what works for you. The general rule of thumb is punishment is a really unreliable motivator.

This place is generally small. It helps to tag you work. Some people manually flag and make descriptions of their work. It's hecking complex how some people do it but generally try to appear more. Reposting your work can also help, but tagging is most important. Your growth will be explosive!~
