It happens in hospice care. I was present when a few of my hospice patients took their meds. Some of the nurses weren’t comfortable and patients and families had complicated feelings when this happened.

There is a rating they give to prostate cancer called a Gleason score or scale. I believe it denotes how aggressive the cancer is. His Gleason score was a 9. But you can have a high Gleason and not have metastatic disease.

I work two days a week doing inpatient palliative care consults. The hospital is on a nice little campus, nestled in a historic neighborhood. Part of that neighborhood is the cemetery behind the hospital. A nice peaceful place to take a walk during the work day. #hapc #lcsw
