Kumamon is a name that English localizations of Digimon media have, at different times, given to two different Digimon:

Bearmon (in video game localizations from 2001-2007; all other localized materials keep the name "Bearmon")
Chackmon (in all of its appearances in English-localized media)

Kumamon is also the name of the official mascot of Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. This Kumamon appeared in some promotional materials for Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna.

Not much is known about the bugpin's past, save for the fact that he was born some time after the village of Castanea was attacked by a blue monster with a voracious stinger tail. Primarily nocturnal, the bugpin sleeps through the day, and stalks the woods at night, living off the land like a wild beast. He seems to have a soft spot for fellow Chespin, however...

- Arms, head, wings and tail are coated in a thick, green carapace that is both bulletproof and blastproof
- Stinger secretes sticky, flame-retardant treesap
- Lower left spot on head is reminiscent of the hole in a normal Chespin's shell
- Tail is retractable
- Wings can fold up to hide docked stinger underneath

- Stomach cannot digest anything whatsoever
- Primary means of nourishment is done via tail
- Belly can still be used for storage purposes (or whenever someone annoys the bugpin)
- Stinger tip can be used to suck the blood of living organisms (often fatal, since the bugpin tends to drink the whole thing)
- Alternatively, tail can open up to non-fatally swallow others whole, increasing the bugpin's power through absorption
- Those the bugpin bsorbs are stored inside a special "hammerspace' organ, where their bio-energy is harvested
- No upper limit to how many victims the bugpin can absorb
- Absorbed prey can be released at any time by spitting them back out the tail, albeit left in a lethargic state (good luck trying to convince the bugpin to give them up willingly, though)

Under certain circumstances, the bugpin can tap into a state of being that dramatically bolsters his speed and power for a brief period of time, otherwise known as his Super Form. In this form, his shell gains a golden sheen, and he is granted the power of flight for as long as the transformation lasts. How he acquired this ability to begin with is also a mystery...
