# I once heard that cheaters often accuse their partners of cheating a lot #not that I'm saying sy is bad as a cheater! #but I wonder if this is similar
It kinda is, I think. Also not saying that SY is a cheater.
My mom always say that people can only give you what they have.
This has two aspects:
One, they can only treat you the way they are able to. For eg. If they have kindness, they treat others with kindness.
And two, people often use other people as mirrors. So, in essence, they're talking and seeing themselves in other people. For eg. If they judge others, they believe everyone is judgemental.
In other words, they will treat and perceive you the way they treat and perceive themself.
[Also, simultaneously, believing others to be distinct from themself. So "my reasons are justified, but theirs are not" kind of mentality. Emotions and logic act separately.]](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:bw5wjbe3up3vgvngabq7mnzz/bafkreigp2d2zpxiafjoxqsx65aqrbzaughtyfxdbxuzi336ausoijghcja)

mentality. Emotions and logic act separately.]
If Shen Yuan has always lied to himself and others and dismissed his own emotions, then that's what he's offering to LBH as well. Even when it's unintentional.
If Shen Jiu has always felt vicious and cruel, then that's what he sees in others too. A fiendish child behind a façade of innocence.
If OG Luo Binghe has always felt unloved, then to him every relationship is a means to an end, a transaction or a conquest.
Many times what people have depends on what they get. So, for example, if SY's emotions are dismissed by his parents or friends, that's how he treats himself, then that's how he'll treat others. Vicious cycle of abuse and all that.
But not always. Sometimes giving can allow you to have. Luo Binghe demanding love and attention, gives Shen Yuan a chance to feel these emotions honestly and offer it to him. And also himself. That's how good people can help you out. People can make others better. LBH makes SY more honest.
Of course, everything is more nuanced and varies from situation to situation.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:bw5wjbe3up3vgvngabq7mnzz/bafkreih2buddik6g554smajcca2peodiqb5hltvsncr7chmk2irnvvr7ga)
