Bought some Black Library novels, so of course I found myself able to read again. Yesterday I devoured Harrowmaster, by Mike Brooks, in one sitting. Good fare! A satisfying campaign novel, though it doesn’t give much character internality. I hope Akurra gets the rumored miniature!

And finally, though he may be due a few touch ups to get his skin in a less patchy place, the Arkifane, Master of the Soul Forge and crafter of foul daemon engine machines of war—VASHTORR. I love this model. Glad he got a rules buff lately, which spurred me to finish painting him.

What else, but a servant of the Plague God? A Great Unclean One, whom I have affectionately named Bubostrophos. He may be less great in bulk than the newer, larger plastic sculpts (as the large base the mini is legally fielded on these days—hence the diorama), but his pewter mass makes it up.

My old resin Be’lakor model, much smaller than the new plastic one, newly mounted on a larger and more prominent base of toppled marble pillars. He is painted in grays and muted purples.

I’m easing a friend back into 40k and we played at 750 points: his Tau against my CSM. Liberal use of the Cabal of Chaos of Stealth stratagem let my daemon prince cheat death several precious turns. The moment that the Ghostkeel finally downed the Prince, and the tides turned. Final: 32-52 to Tau

My custom daemon prince lies upon the cold battlemat, triumphant Ghostkeel standing at 1 wound left, as a handful of Terminators embarrass themselves against a cluster of pathfinders and fire warriors

The same set of combats, from a closer angle to the Terminators. They only killed one pathfinder the previous turn on the charge.

My bard Iliana was ambushed by the father of one of her liaisons. While the rest of the party gruelingly duked it out with tough mercenaries, she danced along the gunwhales and the piers to shove the incensed father and a flunky into the polluted river. Don’t worry, I saved him before he drowned.

Me, only gloating a little bit about using magic to dazzle my foes before sending them plunging into the water.

I got to bust out the minis I painted for the Pathfinder party I’m in today! I built and ordered them from heroforge without the rest of the party knowing, so the surprise was near total as I whipped them out to put on the battle mat
