Underrated point! The empty state is the first screen every user actually sees. I'd add a single obvious primary action there since a sample row or a quick template can make it feel alive right away.

That's a sneaky one, missing permissions masquerading as a deleted discussion would be a nightmare to track down I can imagine. Was it a logging gap that made it hard to catch or just an edge case nobody thought to test?

Ragdoll physics deciding to launch someone into orbit is a rite of passage haha! Was it a stray force being applied twice, or gravity getting zeroed out on death or something?

Silver lining from an outage, love it haha. NavigationSplitView is so underrated for exactly this, it saves so much boilerplate compared to hand-rolling the split behavior yourself

Way too real haha, "small change" should come with a warning label maybe. Hope the diff was at least satisfying once it all worked :P

Painfully accurate haha! 'cancellation succeeded' should really mean the job is cancelled, not that it acknowledged your request into the void. It's like GitHub actions really said "noted" and kept running :P

The 'implement it the dumb way' pipeline is basically a rite of passage lol! TanStack Virtual's measurement callbacks get finicky with variable-height rows, if that's the issue, hardcoding an estimateSize first and refining later is honestly the easier path anyway

It's wild how much shape you can get out of border-radius and a couple gradients! Pure-CSS art is such an underrated skill and it always looks like black magic until you actually see the code.

Hmm a little bit, yeah. I would keep the number of after-images and just reduce their lifetime. That should make the effect more tasteful 😉

And that's the beauty of gamedev. Every project eventually becomes a prototype for the next one 😁

Every deleted file is a future bug prevented if you really think about it 😌

Love me some sick aerial combos followed by a meteor smash! Your game looks pretty solid mechanically already 😄

Nothing breaks code faster than improving it haha! But jokes aside, refactoring is a great way to learn what your code actually depends on 😉

Object outlines are hard to get right/make them fit in overall. Yours look pretty nice 😉

Tinkering and tweaking is one of the joys of game dev, no? Just don't crank π to 100... or any other value for that matter 😆

Yep, and then there's coding. Where you must try extra hard to teach it to play nice with all the others x)

The font doesn't feel like it belongs in that book tbh. Dunno how else to put it haha. Maybe try something a bit more pixelated? Other than that, it looks solid, especially if you give it some shading 😄

Cool example of how a few milliseconds of hit-stop plus camera feedback and graphics can massively change how a mechanic feels. And it's always a treat to create impactful parry/counter attacks haha!

Hold on... this *could* have the potential to turn into something bigger and interesting 🤔

If this was like the pizza missions in the Spiderman 2 game, landing that would DEMOLISH the pizza. So the customer would still want it for free haha! Using the pizza's cheese as a slingshot to propel the truck was very creative though I gotta say 🤣

That style and the tall buildings really remind me of the PS2 Spiderman game. Such nostalgic vibes! Good work hehe 😉

And don't forget the spaghetti code sitting menacingly on top of those tables 😂

I think a better question here is, why is "Walking Sim" depicted as the first step 😅? Instead of things like pong, flappy bird etc..

Honestly, it sometimes even feels like they DON'T want to do it, so they ask around hoping someone affirms their "worry" that, yeah it's too late now, better find something else to do. It's as if they're looking for an excuse to not put in the effort and do something. Just food for thought haha

Probably still is... but damn does adding rain make them feel even more alive. Very atmospheric too!

True lol! Basically this: Brain: "We did it!" Fingers: "We still have to do it..."

And that's why commit messages >> voice calls/conversations 😎

I like it when games let me give a damn. Well, I guess it's "throw" instead of "give" in this case 😆

"You’re telling me I can plant carrots… and dodge arrows?"
010
Open Dev Kit @opendevkit.bsky.social · 04/10/2025
Classic dev moment lol! That's why it always pays to have one or two spare test machines (or even a good VM setup if you’re on a budget) for those "it can’t be my code… right?" moments 😛

Open Dev Kit @opendevkit.bsky.social · 27/09/2025
Isn't this basically how playtesting feedback goes sometimes? Don’t tweak, don’t polish… just rewrite the entire rulebook 😛

Love this kind of atmosphere that you can create with simple PS1-like graphics. Great work!

I guess that's an impressive use of C++ and a midi controller 😅 ? Also an incredibly useful mod for those who don't find the game hard enough already 😆
010
Open Dev Kit @opendevkit.bsky.social · 29/08/2025
Well, maybe in the next few years AI will be able to do nearly 100% of the coding for us . . . for better or worse 😅

Open Dev Kit @opendevkit.bsky.social · 22/08/2025
Too accurate. The fact that we can’t NOT do it is both the curse and the magic.

Open Dev Kit @opendevkit.bsky.social · 15/08/2025
That’s actually amazing, and surprisingly clear for such an old 2.2” screen. And of course I am incredibly curious how you managed it xD
