I made every API call a GET with no body so a dumb webhook could fire it. That's how your own alarm trips OpenAlarm. Some people find that odd for a trigger. Would a POST have felt more correct to you? #BuildInPublic #API #Webhooks #SelfHosted #HomeLab #IndieHackers #DIY #IoT

I built this alone, and one thing I still second-guess: is a 24 hour auto-expiry on unanswered incidents too long, too short, or about right? Genuinely unsure. This is OpenAlarm, which calls your people when your own alarm goes off. #BuildInPublic #IndieHackers #SaaS #HomeSecurity #HomeAssistant

Originally OpenAlarm had the predefined 4 modes and the ability to create additional custom, named modes. We decided that was entirely unnecessary. We think the 4 we have now is more than enough for our users, by far 🙂
