With wildfires burning across the Pacific Northwest, thousands of firefighters are called into rural areas to fight massive fires for weeks on end. To support those firefighters, camps are set up within 24 hours to house, feed, shower and supply these 24/7 operations.

Eleven years ago, a rare, dead, 70-foot-long blue whale washed up on a beach in southern Oregon. It was malnourished and likely hit by a ship. OPB Exclusive: In October, an ICE officer in Portland called 911 to report a kid following him on a motorized bike. He told the dispatcher, "I need someone here now, or else I'm going to have to shoot this kid." Homeland Security did not respond to OPB's questions about the incident.
