opaopa is German for "grandpa grandpa." The name comes from our founder Florian's son, who one day started doubling his words and stuck with opaopa for days. Our rebrand builds on that spirit: a visual language that celebrates all novelists. 👉 opaopa.app #WritingCommunity #amwriting

Most plans fail in one of two ways: too detailed to breathe, or too loose to matter. New on the blog: how to build a plan that lives somewhere in between and grows with the book. opaopa.app/blog/how-to-... #AmWriting #WritingTips #WritingCommunity

How to Plan a Novel
A good book feels rewarding. The questions raised in its very first chapter follow the main character all the way to the last page. But how do you get there?

Mid-scene, mid-sentence, and suddenly: what did I plot for this chapter? In opaopa, your plan is one glance away while you draft. Check a note, add a new beat, keep writing. Without leaving the page. #WritingCommunity #amwriting #amplotting
Product card: the opaopa wordmark and the headline "Your plan, right where you write" above a laptop showing opaopa's drafting view — a manuscript chapter on the left, and on the right a planning panel with the plot card "Meeting in a bar", linked characters, a note, and a short scene summary.

Every novel starts as a plan. Then the writing happens, and the two drift apart. opaopa keeps your plan beside your draft, so the story you imagined and the story you're writing stay the same one. #WritingCommunity #amwriting #amplotting
Product card: the opaopa wordmark and the headline "Plan the story you'll actually write" above a laptop showing opaopa's plan board — a grid with character rows (Mr. Green, Yellow Moon, Purple Haze) and chapter columns from prologue to breakdown, holding plot cards like "Meeting in a bar" and "The plan is collapsing".

The character notes nobody will ever read. The timeline you keep rebuilding from memory. Finish a chapter and opaopa pulls it all into your story bible. You confirm what stays. Made for novelists. #WritingCommunity
Branded card with the blue opaopa wordmark at the top. Large serif headline: "The world you built while no one was watching." Below it, a laptop showing the extraction screen in opaopa. The header reads Extract, chapter 4 of The Prototype, 2,495 words. The page is titled Extraction, step 1 of 2, and starts with a plot summary of the chapter. Underneath, a table of extracted characters with three columns: assigned, suggestion and source. The rows show entries for a character named Atlas, each with a suggested detail such as his gray eyes or his black rain poncho, alongside the exact line from the manuscript it was taken from. Every row has a checkbox, all of them ticked.

Writing live for the first time takes guts, especially after a break. Fluff is a smart pick for that, low stakes and all momentum. The nerves usually fade once the first paragraph is out.
