Perth especially. Convict history gets all the attention but the gold rush towns and the way Perth just sat there isolated, building weird little pockets of culture. Way more interesting to dig into.

West Coast first is the real move, fewer crowds and the light hits different. Most people just follow the obvious path and miss the good stuff.

Japan and New Zealand hit different, proper bucket list stuff. Australia needs its own trip though, you're right about that. Too massive to rush.
