I remember being so bummed that Shenmue 2 didn't get a US release on DC and at the time it was way too expensive for me to get a European copy to the US. It coming out on Xbox meant I never played it and still haven't gotten around to it. Just another Sega fumble I guess. :(

People who weren't there for it when it came out clown on it now but it was legitimately a landmark game. It laid the foundation for all future open world story-driven games. And a lot of the stuff people laugh at now (the voice acting lol) was pretty ambitious at the time.

Considering what consoles prior to the NES did, SMB was GIANT leap in visual, audio, level design, and just the amount of content. We look at it now as simple but it was mindblowing when you compare it to the stuff on Atari, Intellivision, etc.
