I'm of the opinion that it's not done to relieve diesel shortages or reduce prices, it's done so that trump can say "look at Ukraine destroying Russian fuel infrastructure - Zelenskyy is directly attacking our energy security". It's an excuse to further reduce support for Ukraine.

It's going to be a pathetic sight. Are they going to wheel him out on his wheelchair, or lift him onto a chair, or just start with him sitting a chair so that ~6 soldiers can shoot him. Very "low-T". They're going to turn a murderer into a martyr while they struggle to beat Iran in a war of choice.

Everyone's taking the piss, but I'm seriously impressed she's able to stand that still, at that angle and not fall over. Which is a shame, because I for one would love to see one of his idiot entourage stack it live on TV because they were so bored (or off their face in elon's case)

Whenever I see these kind of videos, I always think of this joke about Stalin. The "righteous citizens" never seem to realise that their complaints say more about their thoughts than anybody else's.
A secretary (in some versions Alexander Poskrebyshev) is standing outside the Kremlin as Marshal Zhukov leaves a meeting with Stalin, and he hears him muttering under his breath, "Murderous moustache!" He runs in to see Stalin and breathlessly reports, "I just heard Zhukov say 'Murderous moustache'!" Stalin dismisses the secretary and sends for Zhukov, who comes back in. "Who did you have in mind with 'Murderous moustache'?" asks Stalin. "Why, Josef Vissarionovich, Hitler, of course!" Stalin thanks him, dismisses him, and calls the secretary back. "And who did you think he was talking about?"

When I write to relatives in Germany, I will use an LLM to check my grammar. But it's to learn what I've done wrong (damn you German cases). I still send my original text (with some obvious mistakes corrected) because it's a personal message. I know that they know that my German isn't perfect

Interesting. I feel I'm going to end up in a deep dive as to why Plutonium was used over Americium, although I suspect it'll come down to cost and availability.

I'm a big fan of Lenovo ThinkPads. I couldn't tell you what the feel of the keyboard is though as it's something I mustn't process. However I'm just as comfortable coding on its 14" keyboard as I am on a full size desktop one. Big plus on the build quality too.

Of course they need full fibre broadband. They have bugger all phone coverage even though the area is pretty bloody flat. I'm going to hazard that they didn't want to suffer the ignominy of having a tower anywhere near their village.

Army friends who served in NI would talk about squaddies, an RAF mate would talk about warfare officers. A German relative who flew Tornados described himself as having "defended Europe" (which is a little arrogant, but then he was a fast-jet pilot, so that's to be expected!)

Granted I haven't served, but the "Warrior" thing seems fairly new - I've never heard various family & friends who have server (UK/DE/IE) use it. From a civvy point-of-view it evokes a gung-ho attitude, rather than a well-trained soldier. Is it used in other militaries, eg Denmark?

Possibly preaching to the converted, but this has happened to me so many times with filling out support requests or bug reports online that I type things out in notepad and only then paste them into a web page. I do not trust web pages to submit, which is awkward seeing as it's my job.

5+ Iranian terrorists that tried to blow RAF Fairford after arriving in a small boat has probably helped matters. We know it's utter bollocks, but it's made reform look strong & the government look weak to the people who to believe this shit.

I went to a (the) Methodist secondary school in Dublin. The daily assembly had a hymn, prayer and short "sermon". Non-Christian pupils would stay in the adjoining library until the Christian portion was over, and would filter in. It's not hard to do. * must have some pressure on the chaplain.

I imagine it's referring to this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navier%... It's claimed that OpenAI used the inputs from Buckmaster & Alpoges (who were paying for Claude) to improve their models which had previously failed to produce results.
An excerpt from the Wikipedia article about the Navier-Stokes priority controversy:

"OpenAI acknowledged that Buckmaster and Alpöge's input to models of OpenAI via their use of Codex might have improved the model used for the run, whose training started on 28 August;[7] on the same date, Brown said that OpenAI had already attempted Millennium Prize Problems but failed to produce any result.[41]"

Somebody tried to enhance a frame from the AI-171 crash video. It ended up with a imaginary aircraft as the AI identified the object as a twin engine airliner and then proceeded to draw one that was "sharper". Worse than useless. It would be interesting to know the prompt. I wonder if it...

It's most likely the mandated artificial noise emitted at low speeds. I first thought my Dad's Outlander PHEV had noisy motors until I realised it was AVAS. It makes sense from a safety perspective, but yes they're far noisier than ICE vehicles at low speeds. Myself and my boss car pool and I ...

I decided to google "has shabana mahmood condemned the attempt to sink a migrant boat yet" to see if she had (she hasn't). As I was typing I got these suggested searches. As an aside, I've been spelling her 1st name wrong, so I'd like to apologise to the useful idiot for getting her name wrong.
Some google search suggestions for "has shabina mahmood":
#5 & 6 are "has shabana mahmood defected to reform" and "has shabana mahmood detected to reform uk"
