Unused enemy designs made for Wheel You Survive? - Gift Basket - Seven Magpies - Nostalgia Meme - Sound Crew #indiegame #photobash
A wicker gift basket containing a bunch of bananas, a beer bottle, and a half-consumed pack of pills. The background is a square grid pattern on a CRT TV.Seven identical magpies looking towards you, each a slightly different hue. The background is the vase, star-filled void of space.A badly cropped meme of a retro audioplayer, with the text - which reads "Remember when this was the only way to listen to music" - only half visible. The background is a yellow and teal vaporwave effect grid.Three members of a sounds crew. One holds a clipboard, one holds a boom mic, and the third sits back to the audience on a complicated looking terminal. The background looks like the set background of a retro gameshow, an orange and purple grid.

Working on something 👀 #indiedev #godot
A straight talking tech entrepreneur. Blazer, shirt, tie, glasses, confident smile. His name badge reads "tim" and another badge reads "I love my wife".A thin, weary looking janitor, smiley face rosette clipped to one side of his overalls and a mysterious red stain on the other. Bearded, greying, hair swept back, drooping eyes.A jester, or perhaps a clown, her face clasped in her hands. Bright yellows and pinks and reds in her makeup contrast grey skin, her eyes inhumanely large and hopeful.A large mascot costume: a hawk, or perhaps an eagle. Black feathers and bright orange beak and huge eyes. Some sort of sports jersey is worn over the top, on which rests two large pearl necklaces. The eyes of the person in the costume can be seen staring out of the birds mouth, solemnly.

Nine years on. Justice still delayed, accountability completely denied, homes across the country still unsafe. More tragedies are inevitable but will be carefully ignored. Negligence is the only allowed norm, and will hasten under an austerity regime that's only been further entrenched by Starmer.

A promo image that reads: Switchboard. Available tomorrow. Puzzle game, branching audio drama. Whose call will you answer? The players view of the switchboard. There's a phonebook and a catalogue next to it, along with an alarm clock, some headphones, and some scattered paper.

Compare that with the description of the first game we published on Itch around a year ago 😅 I'm still proud of this considering my limited skillset, but it's fun to look back on everything I'd do differently even after a relatively short space of time.
Plain back background, white font in a typewriter style. The tutorial, as far as there is one, is provided through screenshots rather than the text description. It reflects a more sombre tone but also my various weaknesses as an amateur.

I've been working on my ability to make an itch page not look bad and it feels like I'm getting somewhere 🥳 (It's free to play in browser, btw) houseonthebailey.itch.io/end-of-histo... #indiedev #indiegame #pixelart #itch
A screenshot of an itch page for a death game. A small colour palette of mild browns, decorated subheadings, screenshots, and a tiled background. The largest font, at the top, reads: "1991. A mysterious invite. A mask... and a corpse."

It's just been announced that @greens4palestine.bsky.social's motion "Zionism is Racism" WILL be heard at Spring Conference. The next step is for GPEW members who opposed settler-colonialism and genocide to make sure to book their place at conference and vote to make Greens an anti-zionist party.
Image reads: "We still need to fight Zionism with motion A105 [now scheduled as E12]. Register for conference now! 28th-29th March 2026"

I got hyperfixated on Princess Mononoke a few years ago, including reading loads of articles about the translation, technical development, its reception, and the role of women in Miyazaki's body of work. Anyway, I have the art book now and it's super cool 👀 #ghibli

Belated, but the day after releasing Behind the Hydra's Eyes, I travelled ~250 miles across the UK. Grey clouds holding back a marbled blue, rolling hills of sodden greens and browns, distant ghostly shapes of trees and turbines—omens written in gnarled wood and steel, engines masking whispers.
Wind turbines over a motorway, sky gloomy and grey. Rolling hills, small clusters of trees, and a marbled sky as blue streaks break through grey.

I will be reading this over Christmas as a festive treat to myself—a chunky 661 page behemoth of archival work. I'd actually been waiting eagerly for it after reading Iskra's other archival collection on the PLO earlier this year, and have my eyes on some of their beautiful poetry collections.
A paperback copy of "Historical Documents of the Popular Front" by Iskra Books, laid on a keffiyeh. The book opened on a photograph double spread, where armed Palestinian Resistance fighters stand besides a banner. The image is in stylised black and white, and the book is lying on a keffiyeh.

Ad layout on Canary's website layout makes this read like an onion gag lmao. Anyway, people powered politics is the future, huge props to Zack and everyone working to make the Greens a vehicle for hope.

EXTRA special shout out to the two games our stall was sandwiched between, which were both centred themselves around Palestine, with Cagla focusing on the importance of memory and the deep roots of history, while Rebecca considers the necessity of direct action and internationalism. 🇵🇸✊

It seems I'll be doing another Iskra order soon 👀 I've been waiting for this one since reading their (also very beautiful) PLO collected documents. 🇵🇸✊

I saw that Tabitha Arnold is exhibiting in NYC next week, and am thinking again about how stunningly breathtaking her tapestries are, capturing a people's history. Very jealous of those privileged enough to see them in person!

This is a basic truth that all leftists with any platform—and anyone that wants to defend global victims of imperialism—need to internalise. Apologising to the architects of genocide about words is to accept that a world system where they are arbiters over acceptable conduct. Be angry, be uncowed.

There's been a small art overhaul since we launched the page: 🙎‍♂️ A more detailed grumpy boss to scold you 🖥️ Much nicer looking computer 🏢 A much more detailed office with many more things to fiddle with (kill time getting water, coffee, or tea like a true professional!) #indiedev #gamedev #pixelart
A grumpy-looking middle aged man, grey receding hair and a frown, stares at you from across a desk. There's a large window next to him, and a company poster on the wall behind, besides a framed picture of his dog. On his desk there's a mug (also with company branding), and a blank sheet of paper, fancy pen resting on top.An office with an ugly blue carpet and grey walls. There's desks around the edges, a small kitchen in one corner, and three people milling about—one sitting and concentrating on a computer, the other two standing with cups of tea. The office has all the hallmarks of an office: messy desks, filing cabinets, ugly potted plants, posters on the wall (both company marketing and HR notices), a corkboard, a water-cooler, and in the office there's a small microwave, kettle, and coffee machine.A close up of a computer monitor on a desk. Around the edges of the screen, the messy desk is visible (paper, highlighter, book, stapler). Also visible is the opposite wall, on which is a door, a corkboard, and some posters.

A really enjoyable reflection on an element of internet history that I forget I even miss; like the physical commons, we've already lost almost all of our digital commons, with still no end in sight for the primitive accumulation and smash-and-grab tactics of Silicon Valley and their imitators

I'll try not to respond fawningly to every post in this thread (though they all deserve it!), but the phrase "interactive-essay-meets-walking-sim about technocapitalism" is like catnip to me. And wow, what an itchio page ahaha. Huge congrats to Nathalie for making something fascinating.

Full solidarity to Jamal + all of the people that the Met is trying to make examples of. Brutal and racist police crackdowns were a signature for New Labour, and Starmer is cut from the same genocidal cloth. In a just world, all the police involved, and MPs orchestrating, would be held accountable.

Adored the visceral-ness of this: the wet pulse audible as you shakingly scan an engorged and malformed womb, the way it confirms a horrifying truth which, though unuttered, has shaped the arc of the tragic story. Really great stuff!
