I tried fiddling with the controls and stuff but I couldn't get it to stop and normally my next step would be to ask my landlord for help, or even a friend. but, there's a typhoon right now. it's not super violent at the moment but it's basically meant to get intense any minute

so I made pasta salad tonight and the water boiled over, and then after dinner the autostart spark in the burner started constantly going off on its own. I guess water got inside and there's a short or something. but there's no power switch on the stove to fully turn it off

my friend mostly teaches freshmen and she's had some pretty audacious ones, but the time she taught a grad class was probably the most she's ever struggled with students just ignoring instructions, or not doing work and being surprised by consequences. makes me glad I mostly deal with freshmen
