The thing to understand is that the war between Republicans and Islamists is actually a war between 2 theocratic fascist factions over which one gets to rule. And they both hate the near enemy (that's you and me) more. So of course their propaganda and tactics are similar. They're the same people.

It depends on what the Dems do. If they use a legislative majority to fight with the regime they might be able to maintain the anger and enthusiasm, given how much MORE batshit the regime will get. But if they spend 2 years trying to pass bills Trump will sign, they'll collapse support for 2028.

Except as a lefty, I am not under direct threat yet, but I am exhausted by the constant, cumulative moral injury of seeing genuine evil carried out in my name, because just enough of my fellow citizens wanted evil or didn't care. I don't feel complicit, but I feel responsible and largely helpless.

We're not transitioned to full electric yet, but we have solar panels and bought a battery backup for short-term outages and a propane grill out back we could use for longer outages. Both of those things are expensive, and we're lucky enough to have been able to afford them. But that's our model.

They don't photograph as well as other dogs unless the photographer is more skilled than the typical harried rescue volunteer, so they get less attention. We asked for a black dog through an adoption organization, but no guarantees & got lucky. If we have a choice next time, black dog again!
