I don't have the bandwidth to post about most of what's happening here with the fires. Unfathomable loss all around. Amidst such devastation, one light moment was seeing four hummingbirds drinking at my feeder. It's tough here for wildlife as well as humans. Look at territorial birds sharing.

If the TV were on mute and I saw this, I would immediately drop everything and turn it up to watch Jamey Johnson sing the heck out of Georgia On My Mind with Warren Haynes shredding on the guitar. One of the single best moments of #WillieNelson90. I stopped taking video there to just listen.

Me: What do I watch now the day after the Eras Tour ended? PBS: How about Willie Nelson's 90th concert? So I'm taking solace in the other most incredible concert I've ever been to, and just a few months before the Eras Tour. Music heals.

How #TSTheErasTour mattered: It gave me words and light when I most needed them. After being a fan since Debut, I became a #Swiftie for life! 💚💛💜♥️🩵🖤🩷🩶🤎💙🤍 Thank you, Taylor Swift and Taylor Nation! 🫶 P.S. My mom got better! She still wears her SYGB bracelet every day.

Letter: Dear Taylor,

I spent the start of the week of your LA concert with my mom at MD Anderson in Houston. She had her first appt to find out what she is facing from a large tumor in her lung. I flew home to LA afterward with a few answers yet, and I went to your concert that Friday with a Soon You'll Get Better bracelet like a journal entry around my wrist. Somehow it helped. It was a way to send out a prayer I needed to pray…a way to put out there the words I didn't have yet, but that you did. Eras was my first concert of yours, after being a fan since Tim McGraw. I went alone, and I kept that bracelet but swapped others with fellow fans of all ages all so excited to be there…and I felt better after the rough week. You sang Our Song that night, and we did too at the top of our under-appreciated lungs. So I just wanted to write to say: Thank you! I needed that outlet, that dose of pure joy, presence, companionship with humanity, and...hope. Through your music and the kind fandom you inspire, you helped me in a very specific way that day.

Mom starts chemo this week. We are hopeful. I pray that your own mom and you are doing well these days.

🫶, Courtney

On this advent day when a tyrant has fallen, here's a Christian prayer to join the voices and faiths around the world proclaiming peace. O come, Desire of nations, bind all peoples in one heart and mind; bid envy, strife, and discord cease; fill the whole world with heaven's peace.

I didn't know it came canned! I first tried their split pea soup when my car radiator blew near Solvang and was towed next door to Andersen's in Buellton, CA. When life drops you at their doorstep, you try their soup. It lives up to the hype.
