I am like please be Jenova in human form Alissa because the vibes I am getting are so good and it would be the coolest shit ever.

This part always stays with me, Reno trying to reach for his nightstick, and Cloud blocks him off and says, "How do we stop it?" and Reno, resigned, is like "Who knows?" and passes out. It's such a good moment of like meta commentary on the whole Shinra machine and Reno's dubious feelings and doubt

God his EYES. Every time I'm like damn. And I also remember why like people had to have been so weirded out by him, no wonder he felt so very isolated.

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 07/10/2025

God, platefall still hits me so fucking hard. The people I heard saying "no one died" "it wasn't meaningful" or what the fuck ever were so full of shit. I strongly disagree It chills me even more thinking back to how the first game was pre 9/11, and how much the world has changed in the years since

And we are go! Chapter 4 of The Missing Wing Cloud wanders the snowfields looking for answers and finds nothing but questions instead. #ff7 #ff7r #cloudstrife #sephiroth #sephikura

More face practice, this time the much harder Sephiroth. He's got a lot of soft shapes and I struggle with soft non contrasty lines lol.

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 23/09/2025

In most fandoms I have like one particular blorbo I fixate on. In FF7 its just SO FUCKING MANY. Like Sephiroth, Cloud, Hojo, Rufus, Reno, Vincent, Zack, Barret, Aerith, its just a HUGELY COMPETITIVE LIST OF CHARACTERS, ANY ONE OF WHICH I'd have fixated on in another situation.

You can't prove I'm completely feral about this fuckin relationship.

020

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 22/09/2025

The game does everything it can to make this part clear but as someone with no sense of direction, welcome to my idea of hell.

Drawing some screenshots to practice figuring out proportions on features and stuff. Here's a random cloud. His features are soooo soft its hard for me to temper my pointy ass style.

I really enjoy Jessie as a character. She doesn't feel superficial, even her pushy flirting with Cloud that Wedge warns us is just an act is a key to the way she deals with an overwhelming world by performing to it. I think she really does find Cloud sweet.

142

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 21/09/2025

This bit always has me in stitches.

020

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 21/09/2025

I love that we get to see what the Shinra employees homes look like, this whole scene was a brilliant addition imo.

140

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 21/09/2025

I also really fucking love Roche, I think he's a good example that the treatments and stuff create kind of bombastic characters within the ranks. Shinra's army has always felt very MGS esque with its wild characters and its a thing I really enjoy.

030

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 21/09/2025

It's so odd to me when I see people really down on the FF7 remakes, I think for me it doesn't matter what it does differently than FF7 because the original still exists, and in no way do these games purport to be that game or replace it, they feel like an AU and that's fine with me.

120

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 21/09/2025

At first, with FF7R, I was opposed to the decision to include Sephiroth in the game, but now I am very much pro it, especially with the implications that Cloud can "remember" things that already happened, etc. Also I think we are more inside Clouds mind in this game than the PSX allowed.

020

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 20/09/2025

Barrets little melodramatic "would we float to the heart of the planet" comment getting shot down by Cloud very practically being like "no the pump would fucking kill us" is a good illustration of their personalities lol. I adore Cloud and Barret's relationship a lot.

040

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 20/09/2025

I love all the little posters and nods to Banora White apples. I always thought the dumbapples thing in crisis core was so silly, it's endearing. FF7 goes from the coolest thing I've ever seen to the weirdest most ridiculous little details and its part of the appeal.

020

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 20/09/2025

Hilarious fact but one of the first "yaoi" fics I ever read was a smutfic between President Shinra and Heidegger. Kid me was traumatised but I was also at a "beards are gross" stage of being a weeb. I just couldn't recognise good toxic old man content lollll.

040

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 20/09/2025

I always loved Aerith but as a kid it drove me COMPLETELY insane that she looked so much like Sephiroth. I was like WHY DO THEY HAVE THE SAME HAIR. My deep sense of vindication DECADES later when it turned out she was meant to be his sister in earliest drafts of the story.

120

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 20/09/2025

I think contrasting Midgar to the desolate life-leeched wasteland around it from the outset of the game was a great idea, that initial sweep in is so delicious I could eat it with a spoon.

020

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 20/09/2025

I was like "Avalanche all wear red, I wonder if Barret does" and then realised he does its just literally a tattoo he can't take off. #ff7

021

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 27/12/2024

I don't have a type, what are you talking about? Sephiroth's outfits I have are still pretty meh, the one I've always wanted is the Kuja one, but I missed the FF9 event. Also ignore their pwr scores this is just random lol.

020

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 24/12/2024

Oh my god I am so hype about the potential twist behind Alissa.

010

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 24/12/2024

I thought EC would just be a trash mobile game but I am genuinely 100 percent enjoying this new storyline about Sephiroth, I'm actually a really huge Glenn fan too.

120

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 24/12/2024

I'm playing Crisis Core atm and I am so close to the ending but I won't let myself complete it without doing as many of the missions as I can, and my GOD I forgot how many missions were there in this game. I'm only at like 40 percent! #ff7 #ff7cc #crisiscore

Weirdly I think I'm more attached to the name "Midgar Zolom" than "Midgardsormr" because the first one feels like an original thing whereas the second is just the name of the world serpent lifted wholesale. I liked that it was unique to FF7 in its way even if it was a translation mistake.

130

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 18/11/2024

Introduce yourself with 4 games This was extremely difficult to choose!

021

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 18/11/2024

Predictably for me, it's Sephiroth. I'm not some crazy supervillain in rl but there are thematic undercurrents to him as a character that have always resonated with me. That moment where he realises that his differences and solitude he thought made him special were something "wrong" instead.

010

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 16/11/2024

I know its TOTALLY just a fan theory with no confirmation or solid foundation in reality, but one of my favourite theories will always be Cloud being one of Shinra's illegitimate children. It's not like he doesn't have a supermodel tier kid already. I just like the "defeating bad dads" theme in FF7

140

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 16/11/2024

I do love this greasy lunatic.

210

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 15/11/2024

There's SO much cool merch now I'd be spoiled for choice. I was utterly devastated when I missed the pre-order period for the Sephiroth figure for Rebirth, since I have daytona cloud from Remake amongst other older Clouds.

000

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 15/11/2024

Right now most of my Final Fantasy merch is in storage because I only have room to display my FNAF collection of it, not both! I have a weird hoard of imported box sets and things. I have the big advent children box set, the crisis core PSP, just lots of random old things.

My wife was still in the USA at that point, we hadn't begun the marriage VISA process we just finished this year. I sat there alone and I cried the whole time, but not out of sadness just being a big sap for music, for the nostalgia of the game and it being a turning point for my life.

000

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 15/11/2024

For my 30th birthday I opted to go to distant worlds and fulfil the absolute dream of my life and get to meet Uematsu and Arnie Roth, cropped myself because I do not like To Be Perceived. But so humbling, hard to express how much the music has been a cornerstone of my life.

130

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 15/11/2024

Some brief footage of the performance. This was the part where I just CRIED THE WHOLE TIME because I'm a big sap about this game. It means the whole world to me and was the only game I ever played right through with my dad.

010

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 15/11/2024

Looking through my various photos to see what FF7 related ones I have. Loved the FF7:Rebirth concert a lot, I missed the first one due to the whole world stuff happening at the time but was determined to go to this one.

A view of the FF7 Remake Orchestra World Tour at the Albert Hall in London, the lighting is blue and red, with the orchestra well lit in front of a silhouetted audience.

Oh yeah, I figured I should post my Sephiroth belt here. I made this for a cosplay to wear to the FFR concert in London, and then on the day, we got caught in a pop-up protest in our taxi and didn't get time to change! So I'll probably wheel it out for a con in the new year.

A silver belt buckle with a wing motif on top of a rainbow coloured towel, it is hand painted and has various charms hanging from it. It is in the style worn by Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7

As a kid I didn't care about Barret but man as an adult I love his character so much. He's such a compelling character with such an interesting backstory. I hope we get more content of him someday, I know he ends up low on Japanese polls but also.. uh yeah. Japan's track record on this front.

I am absolutely adoring the Shinra Archeology cut of FF7, as someone too stupid to learn Japanese it's what I've always craved after the initial localisation. The fact people did this for us for free gives me faith in humanity.

031

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 13/11/2024

Just for fun, here's the original one it was a re-draw of, all the way back from 2003 and one of my school notebooks.

010

Bane - One Winged @onewinged.co.uk · 13/11/2024

2011 artwork of Sephiroth trapped in a tube similar to the one JENOVA ends up in, as if he was found in the northern cavity years later. This is one I'm tempted to try and re-draw in the modern day as this was already a redraw of an even OLDER piece from 2003 #ff7 #sephiroth #safersephiroth

$sephiroth inside a large specimen container similar to JENOVA, he has vestiges of his safer sephiroth boss form, from his wing, to the fractured halo behind him, his helmet similar to jenova's one also states his name, the style is brightly coloured but a little 2000s in its interpretation of colour.$
