C.I. symptoms are often invisible and appearance does not determine the presence of or severity of symptoms. What determines that is the words the patient is saying to you and trusting you to help them with.

You are not a burden, a provider's job is to care and take what you say seriously. As a provider-we need to do the work to make sure we are checking bias and LISTENING to patients. They need to be taken seriously. Just because someone is smiling at you does not mean they are not in pain.

As patients we advocate for ourselves-we talk to our providers instead of brushing symptoms off. We trust ourselves when something feels wrong. We keep track of what's happening so a clear trail can be documented. We fight for ourselves. Do not worry about seeming like a "good" patient.

It took almost a decade and a trip to the hospital thinking I was having a stroke to determine I had multiple sclerosis. I was always tired, but who isn't. Yeah my legs went completely numb randomly but I had a b-12 deficiency as I also have alpha thalassemia.

Many of these symptoms are easy to write off. Recurrent fevers can be from a school-aged child that brings home some germs. Maybe working in the yard caused a rash. Yeah we're tired, have you seen this economy?! See how easy it is to convince yourselves these are isolated symptoms?

The symptoms of the disease reflect the area your immune system is attacking but symptoms can be very vague. Fatigue, muscle weakness/pain, swelling, skin issues, dizziness, gastrointestinal issues, and recurrent fevers are some of the more common ones. (graphic: Verywell Health)

misdiagnosis. I spoke earlier about dynamic illness , where severity of symptoms and even which ones your having can vary from day to day, hour to hour, and even minute to minute. It can make for a frustrating experience because you never know what to expect. This makes seeking help very difficult.

I really like it! The gameplay is smooth like Mirage but they're doing a really good job with the story like Origins. I'm a brawler more than a stealth girl so I am having to lean more into stealth when I play as Naoe, but it's really really good. The soundtrack is PHENOMENAL.
