The final member of Team Cincinnati is Michelle Lachmann who absolutely crushed it in her performance as one of the rock opera’s three spirit guides, Earth, Wind, and Fire. Did you pick up on that? Anyway, she plays fire cuz that’s what her performance is… 🔥

We’re still hanging with Team Cincinnati and today is a big one! Chris Whiteford has been my ride or die for FOUR DECADES. We don’t talk as much as either of us would like, but it’s always like no time has passed when we do. I love you, Chris!

The final member of the rock opera Portland contingency is questionable as he doesn’t live there anymore. But don’t hold that against him! He’s one of my favorite people… it’s Nick Louie! I’m pretty sure that’s not his last name, but we both have brain cancer and never bother/remember to ask.

The next member of the Portland Contingent of the rock opera were celebrating is John Guffey! He’s got a killer speaking voice and even better guitar tones. His playing is all over this thing!

Rudy Fischmann @onelastfisch.bsky.social · 14/05/2026

The next member of the Portland Contingency is my longtime friend Andy Moon! He played guitar in the first band I was ever in but is on drums for the rock opera. He’s currently in about 27 musical projects including the sloth-like Timid Beacon with me. We have an album on BandCamp too.

Today and everyday is for Emily Suess who not only speaks in the rock opera, but wrote some of the words. She is just entering hospice as you read this. It doesn’t mean the end is here for her, but it isn’t good and my heart is broken.

I know it’s later in the day but May 6 was always Adam’s favorite day of brain tumor awareness month (US). I think? Anyway, our burgeoning friendship was cut short by GBM, but your spirit is all over this rock opera thing.

Day 5 and Byron King is still alive… at least in my mind. I think of him and his slow decline nearly every day. But more than that, he was a great friend who was there for me even while he was in his last days. He’s one of the people I miss most. Stupid brain cancer.

This 4th of May is for Zoe Noble who passed as she was about to submit a contribution to the rock opera. She died at 28 of the exact same weird diagnosis and location as me, but in the UK. She had just gotten engaged and gone back to work. So yeah, I took her passing extra personally.

It’s the first day of brain tumor awareness month (US) and the “official” release date of the rock opera, so we’re giving it up for the GOAT of all advocates, Adam Hayden! His passing last December was the final motivation to finish this dang thing. Adam’s not in it, but his legacy is all over it.

Today is about Amanda Crowell! Unfortunately, she’s no longer with us physically, but I think about her, what she did, and her attitude toward life almost every day. Her words to me largely make up the lyrics to the penultimate tune “The Song is Over”.

Today, let’s give it up for Malik Smith who contributed his great oratory skills on this “commercial”. He’s an awesome actor and fine human I met during my tv days, but he’s just too cool to let go. I’m so grateful for his part in this ridiculous dream of mine.

Today we’re giving some love to Dave Gebroe - host of the Discograffiti music podcast and one of my closest friends. He’s also been touched by the cancer “bug” (kidney) among all sorts of other bs. Anyway, more about him and his critical role in making the rick opera a reality NEXT WEEKEND.

I wanted to spotlight all the people who contributed the rock opera. I gotta start with this lady who narrates the whole dang thing and has been an incredible personal support to me. We met when I interviewed her a bunch for various true crime shows and is a fine example of being a great human.

A follow-up video on how to donate since some people don’t want to wait until the official release date of May 1, 2026. The music is out there already anyway so why not? 🤣 PS- this video features about 5% more production value than my previous one, but about the same level of sloth-like energy.

Rudy Fischmann @onelastfisch.bsky.social · 15/04/2026

Ok not my best work production-wise but I’m trying to get this thing across the finish line pretty much alone and while feeling like crap. 60 people from 13 nations?! That’s gotta be worth some donations to @teencanceramerica and @teenage_cancer_trust

Rudy Fischmann @onelastfisch.bsky.social · 01/03/2026

I was going to wait to post this, I didn’t want to forget plus I’m just too dang excited about the release of the rock opera. Should be May and will be a fundraiser for @teencanceramerica and @teenage_cancer . I know a rock opera is kinda ridiculous, but it’s what the world really needs right now.

First MRI in the new city. Got a contrast injection from the MRI machine mid-scan. Got the most comfortable hospital pants ever and blood lab results in MyChart as I was walking out of the hospital. And oh— the headphones had the worst sound ever, just so you know I’m not a sycophant. #braincancer
