Came across a great comment on Reddit about how the Trump administration is decimating our institutions through cronyism What a sick joke this country has become

Imaging being a young child, with hopes and dreams of becoming an FBI agent.

You do well in high school. You do very well in college. You get that Bachelor's degree. You keep your nose clean and do lots of community service.

You finally do it. You apply to the FBI. Every corner of your life is looked at and scrutinized. Every secret exposed. Background checks, mental evaluations, and the polygraph. You pass. You are accepted into the FBI as a recruit.

You go and train. You get good grades and marks. You graduate top of your class and given your service weapon and FBI badge. All those years of hard work and sweat, You did it.

Only for the President to spit in your face, shake your hand and tell you they are there for you but is a felon himself. Pardoning those who harmed law enforcement officers. Giving the director spot to a MAGA token. The second in command the job because he kisses Trump's ass. They all get in with zero background checks or experience. They are a mockery to the FBI.

What a sick joke this country has become.

Local broadcasters have an obligation to serve the public interest. While this may be an unprecedented decision, it is important for broadcasters to push back on Disney programming that they determine falls short of community values.

I hope that other broadcasters follow Nexstar's lead.
