i believe in games as a storytelling medium and that's why i need the stories to aim higher than "pretty good if you haven't read a book"

somebody needs to talk to the director of Predator: Killer of Killers, because this blatant and almost non-derivative scene work is TEW much. Like, am I really this criminally online and media ensconced? There's a whole scene that is frame for frame part of the dog fight in pearl harbor, NO LIE.

Statement from Johnathan Joss’ (voice actor of John Redcorn of King of The Hill) husband about what happened leading to Johnathan’s murder. Hint: Texas homophobes.

“Statement from Jonathan Joss's husband
Statement from Tristan Kern de Gonzales
Husband of Jonathan Joss
My husband Jonathan Joss and I were involved in a shooting while checking the mail at the site of our former home. That home was burned down after over two years of threats from people in the area who repeatedly told us they would set it on fire. We reported these threats to law enforcement multiple times and nothing was done.
Throughout that time we were harassed regularly by individuals who made it clear they did not accept our relationship. Much of the harassment was openly homophobic.
When we returned to the site to check our mail we discovered the skull of one of our dogs and its harness placed in clear view. This caused both of us severe emotional distress. We began yelling and crying in response to the pain of what we saw.
While we were doing this a man approached us.
He started yelling violent homophobic slurs at us.
He then raised a gun from his lap and fired.
Jonathan and I had no weapons. We were not threatening anyone. We were grieving. We were standing side by side. When the man fired Jonathan pushed me out of the way. He saver life.”

“Jonathan is my husband. He gave me more love in our time together than most people ever get. We were newlyweds. We picked Valentines Day. We were in the process of looking for a trailer and planning our future.
He was murdered by someone who could not stand the sight of two men loving each other.
I was with him when he passed. I told him how much he was loved.
To everyone who supported him, his fans, his friends, know that he valued you deeply. He saw you as family.
My focus now is on protecting Jonathan's legacy and honoring the life we built together.
If your concern is how someone coped with trauma or how loudly they speak when recounting injustice and being ignored by authorities then you never truly cared about my husband.
Jonathan saved my life. I will carry that forward. I will protect what he built.
• Tristan Kern de Gonzales”

I am formerly rejecting "If you wrote this in a novel it'd be too on-the-nose". Going forward my characters will perform unambiguous symbology, read lines devoid of subtly, whilst a big flashing sign over the stage reads THIS IS ALL REALLY HAPPENING RIGHT NOW YOU FUCKS.

Sorry I’ve been so quiet on this side of things. Life shit. Health shit, online drama shit, and my senior pup all took a dive while also dealing with Amerikkka. The good news is no breast cancer at least. Will try to be updating and posting my art again when I can as I continue writing my longfic. 💖

My supposed to be quick and simple Lauren Bacall study for George, ballooned. #fanart #madewithprocreate #solesurvivoroc #fallout4fanart #valuestudy #digitalart #noir

A digital illustration in a noir-inspired, textured monochrome style. A woman with dark, arched eyebrows and piercing eyes gazes coolly at the viewer, holding a cigarette between her fingers. Shadows and light play dramatically across her face, emphasizing her sharp features. She wears a structured, oversized suit jacket, adding to the vintage aesthetic. The background is dark, with soft, slatted light filtering in, reminiscent of classic film noir lighting. The piece has a grainy, almost etched quality, enhancing its old-school, cinematic feel.

"Stop romanticizing toxic tropes in fiction" Bro literally never heard of 'Romanticism' (1790 - c. 1850) and how it's a deliberate rejection of order, harmony, balance, and rationality and celebrates the irrational, personal, emotional, weird, occult, and monstrous by design, how embarrassing 😞

Got my first "Violating an Executive Order" and "I'll make sure you lose federal funding" parent threat today for teaching "DEI" books in our upcoming "Liberty and Justice" themed unit. Even in "Blue" Massachusetts we're dealing with this. Anyway, don't obey in advance, and don't obey later.

Book covers for: Hollow Fires by Samira Ahmed, The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo, The Many Half-Lived Lives of Sam Sylvester by Maya MacGregor, Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, Monster by Walter Dean Myers, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

Not a call out or anything, but just wanna highlight this reply because it's what this article fundamentally misses. As someone who did front-line work, and now I can't because I'm permanently disabled, I'm just really tired of disabled people being left out of a much more needed convo.

Lord, Janus, what bad and pretty insulting post.
Are you aware how inaccessible protests are to anyone who isn't able-bodied or thin or neurotypical? Are you aware that there are people for whom digital activism like posting might be the only thing they have the ability or real capacity to do?
what about those of us at significantly higher risk of political violence aimed towards us, whether we be undocumented, trans, Black, or queer? Should we simply go to the protest with no assurances that the white ablebodied cishet protestors will sacrifice themselves first?
It seems like you've forgotten that activism requires a broad set of skills, and not all of those call for front-line work. Support systems are required, and those that organize and deploy them are critical. Much, if not all of that work can be done digitally and not everyone is required to put their bodies on the line, especially when many of us already live with that reality daily.
Finally, as someone who is at high risk for severe Covid infection, why would I attend a rally or a march where organizers will not mandate masking, where community care for anyone other than the thin and able-bodied does not exist? If protests and marches wish to build stronger community support, they need to ensure they center the most harmed and least helped not just in their demands, but in their organizing practices.
can you solely post your way out of fascism? No, but you also can't march your way out or donate your way out. Resisting and dismantling fascism is a communitarian event that requires all types of skills, expertly wielded.
Unfortunately, this article is a diminishment of what true antifascist movements look like.

Friendly reminder for this new year: if you want to draw you only need one thing: DRAW It's okay if you don't have art studies, if you're bad at anatomy or color, if you draw on a napkin or if it looks “ugly” to you... You don’t need to be “good” at something to have fun!
