Dammit, this should have been so much better. Instead, it’s the movie that ended Kristen Kreuk’s movie career before it ever took off. I thought she stood out in this and her ability to choreograph a ...

This is so 2005 (that’s not a compliment). There’s a good story in here, but it’s ruined by what was considered edgy at the time: underexposed, high-contrast shots with superfluous jump cuts and point...

I watched this in bits and pieces so many times in my formative years, but only now have come to truly appreciate it in its entirety. This is phenomenal. It’s emotional, funny, exciting, tense, and he...

I’m a sucker for old New York and an economic screenplay, although this felt a little too Cliff’s Notes-y. Undoubtedly, this would be a 200+ minute remake today. A very frustrating story, made more so...

This was much better than I was expecting it to be. It’s a fun story elevated by Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman completely buying in, and backed by a very capable supporting cast. You can see the se...

Adam Driver is great in this, but the movie itself just isn’t very good. There is something very underwhelming about CGI threats that just eliminates all sense of dread and kills tension. Also, why co...

It’s funny how nostalgia works. I remember loving this as a kid, but upon this rewatch it’s quite terrible. The dialogue here is asinine, not to mention the f-slur landmines you have to navigate. Norm...

This is wonderful throwback Steven Spielberg movie magic. What a sense of awe! Emily Blunt is at her best, and Wyatt Russell show us again that sometimes talent skips a generation. This movie is too l...

Jake Gyllenhaal portrays an utterly psychotic villain with alarming ease here. His character Louis Bloom is rife with red flags; it is so uncomfortable watching him go about his day with no regard for...

This gave me deep girl dad feels. This story is so wonderfully and effectively told. Hard to believe John Cho was the MILF stoner from American Pie or Kumar’s friend Harold. He is punching well above ...

The only real horror here would be being trapped in a house with these insufferable people. This is neither horror nor science fiction, seemingly born from an idea someone had about the 2020 lockdown,...

This hits hard for me as a girl dad. It was so painful watching Lady Bird struggle through her formative years feeling alone and unseen. She lashes out and hurts the people who care most about her, an...

Surprisingly progressive for its time. I’m sure this had the boomers all twisted up. Crazy chemistry here. I love a low-stakes story told mostly in a single location. This is good stuff. Move life les...

Of course, Jada Pinkett-Smith would crawl up to stage to make sure everyone in the room knows she’s dying. No acting done there. +1 star for killing her off, and nice and early, along with Jamie Kenne...

I have to preface this with the fact that I don’t particularly enjoy horror movies. It’s just not my thing. I remember watching this in my 20’s and I absolutely despised it back then. 30 years later…I...

This is such an uncomfortable movie. I was squirming and cringing the whole time. If Evan was supposed to be a sympathetic character, this movie failed to make me feel bad for him. I do like the conta...

Such a sad story. I don’t think anyone but Tom Hanks, with his range, could have played Michael Sullivan this well.  Movie life lesson: Maybe hide behind something when you’re being shot at.

This won’t be the last time I review this movie because I will most definitely watch it again. Do you know what pizza with tears on it tastes like? I do because I made the mistake of eating dinner whi...

Very dark, and not very scary. Just didn’t really build much tension. Movie life lesson: Stay off the tracks, kids.

Look, I understand that this story is a tribute to adventure and the indomitable human spirit and loyalty and faith and all that. But all I could think the whole time was they never had to be there in...
