I’m kinda proud of what I’ve done with this fantasy baseball keeper league. When I took over this team 3 years ago, it was a mess. Now I’m sweeping the Semis

NBC go fuck yourself and your gutless passive voice bullshit. How the fuck is “WIDELY DISPUTED” the right phrasing here? IF FUNDS WERE REALLOCATED THAT’S NO LONGER A DISPUTE

Never thought I’d be a “blanket at the ballpark” guy, let alone wearing a pair of long underwear to the ballpark in AUGUST. San Francisco’s climate is wonderful but weird

Another sneak peak at my omgbaseball project

How omgbaseball works
omgbaseball looks at every baseball game happening anywhere in the world right now and points you to the single best one for you to watch, based on the leagues and teams you care about and the services you can actually watch on.
How does it pick a game?
It works through your preferences in order, and it only ever picks a game you can actually watch. First it sets aside anything on a paid service you have not told it you have. Then, from what is left, it follows your chosen strategy:

League-first: it goes down your ranked list of leagues and shows a game from your highest league that has one on. If one of your favorite teams is playing in that league it shows their game, otherwise it shows the freshest game (the one in the earliest inning).
Team-first: it goes down your ranked list of teams and shows your highest-ranked team that is live right now, wherever in the world they happen to be playing.
If nothing from your top choices is on, it keeps moving down the list. The "Why this game" panel under the featured game always spells out which rule made the choice, so you can see exactly why you are watching what you are watching.

One of the most facinating parts of living in the Bay are the “microclimates.” San Jose and San Francisco are 45 miles apart. For reference, that’s the distance between Naperville and Chicago!

It was Opening Day 2018, less than a year after our wedding. I subscribed to MLB.TV on a whim having not watched baseball since HS. Nick Markakis hits a walk-off home run, Braves win. I looked at her and said “oh I like this.” They clinched on our 1st anniversary. Guess where we were? Poor woman 🤣
