While acid belchers use their glands to drastically increase the amount of corrosive digestive acid they produce, the 𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙛𝙪𝙧-𝙛𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙨 weaponize their own digestive gases, churning in their numerous ticks, before throwing them at the enemy. Their sulfur fumes will burn fur and blister the lungs.

Bloodsworn Ruhjj’aan warrior-poets are the backbone of the Maisons Ombrelune and Rivesac’s armies, and their law enforcers. They have all made a suicide pact with the Caliph, and in the event of Her death, they have sworn to follow Her to Her grave.

Before the founding of the Caliphate and the creation of Womb Banks, the ysleria of old were carrying their young on - and in - their backs, where seedlings would erupt from cluster pods after “pregnancy”.

Kharijitbilis are our war mounts. While tufilis are made for slow but steady exploration, Kharijitbilis are brutish creatures bred for skirmishes and Jihāds, protected at worst by their own bark, and at best by bone-weave armor. Extremely resilient, dangerous, and unyielding.

A chaetognath (or paleworm) is an amalgam of an ysleria and the shatal that just infected them, but instead of turning them into a lumbering hive, this happened. Absurdly fast and silent, they slide slightly under the dunes with immense ease, and are always hunting in packs of five or six.

Maison Rivesac - druids, cannibals and brewers. The Rivesac are either always cooking or eating something. They dye their arms, legs and eyes pitch black with the soot of their holy dead, and during weddings, have their tails cut off and replaced by a blessed decorative cloth.

Felt like relaxing a bit today, so I did some cartography to improve the map ! It was such a fucking mess with textures blended in weird ways and a fuckton of excessively tiny cities with unreadable names, now, it's just the essentials.

At the top of the House of Wisdom, lies the Orrery. A giant biomechanical map of Nasij, transcribing in real time the ebbs and flows of the Pyre and Moon, the waves of the Sea of Stars, keeping an extra eye on the Carrions and any celestial anomalies that can happen.

The Polymorphous Oculeptic Disease is a lesser skin infection easily caught when diving in dark waters. Any patient infected with POD will experience an itchiness followed by a gradual growth of eyes on their skin and through their fur, until the infection progresses inside, choking them with eyes.

"Malignant Derma-Thawing is an extremely aggressive infection usually plaguing miners. Underground fungi will cause a rapid fur/scale loss, quickly followed by what could be described as a liquefying of the skin and muscles. Miners are usually buried alive in droves to prevent surface infection.”

At the base of the Tail, there’s one of the three holy Khaje’ko. This one comprises the giant statues of Karaburan - against the mountains, and Amihan - against the gulf; it technically marks the frontier between Maison Ombrelune and Maison Grès.

Unrefined blocks of sugar are gathered from monoliths (called kilns), boiling hot and covered in smoke. The (Huthal) workers are barely protected and inhaling the thin yellow smoke attacks the lungs and the fur, and leads to lasting health effects. But at least Albe gets her sugar.

𝙋𝙚𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙥𝙩𝙨 are convicts forcefully mobilized for military service. Often drugged and used in front lines, suicide missions and always disposable, they are overseen by special hadhrats or murshids to ensure they do not attempt to escape, retreat, or mutiny.

Cephalophores are the last remaining living martyrs of the Cult of the Dead, each in charge of a congregation of hadhrats; beheaded yet still alive, they wander the Maison’s territory and preach the Unseen Mother’s word, their wounds constantly bleeding.
