I'm watching these two bangers today. They showed horror can be a sophisticated genre. Rosemary's Baby was filmed at The Dakota where John Lennon lived up to his death. Ellen Burstyn won her Oscar for Alice...because of her performance in The Exorcist.

I'm watching 1900 House on YouTube. It aired on PBS in 1999. A family volunteers to spend three months immersed in 1900 London. It spawned Frontier House and Colonial House. Smart Phones weren't a thing and the Internet was new in 1999 so the sacrifice wasn't as great.

I'm digging in the IMDB of Downton Abbey and found Jim Carter who plays the butler Mr. Carson played Deja Vu in Top Secret. If you are a fan of Rustlers Rhapsody he also played Blackie.

#NowWatching from (1976). Now 50. One of the most 70's movies without having a 70's soundtrack. Spacek and Piper Laurie received Oscar noms. Amy Irving and her mother played mother and daughter. Most of the cast auditioned for Star Wars at the same audition with Katt and Irving impressing Lucas.

Slowly watching East Of Eden. I saw the 1981 mini series with Jane Seymour which helped her career at the time. It's a juicy role. Jo Van Fleet won the Best Supporting Oscar for the 1955 movie playing the character.

I've been watching Downton Abbey for the first time. A good show. I've noticed it borrows elements of some movies I love. There is a flower show which is like the one in Mrs Miniver and there is a story about someone giving up a child which reminds me of To Each His Own. Nice source material

I've started watching Downton Abby. This might be something to watch from time to time. It requires your undivided attention and the subtitles on. I learned this while working. I see why it was popular. A tale of two classes.

I began watching Burke's Law. It ran from 1963-65. It's about a millionaire who solves murders. Call it a pre Hart To Hart. Each episode has many famous guest stars which Spelling also did with The Love Boat and Fantasy Island. This is where it all started. There's a sense of humor. Not a bad show.
