The big story beneath the story of OpenAI's $122 billion at an $852 billion valuation is the race to the IPO. Don't read the number. Dissect the investors. Especially the ones extending a $4.7 billion credit line. om.co/2026/03/31/o...

Sometimes it takes a single piece in a jigsaw puzzle for the whole picture to come into shape. And that happened earlier this weekend. And it happened because of a 40-year-old piece of software @claudeai. A new essay, How AI goes to work. (warning: it's very long.) om.co/2026/02/06/h...

I have been watching the evolution of @Instagram for a long time. Adam Mosseri’s era is definitely more lively and exciting. He does Zuck's bidding well, and as such, is a good way to understand how the politburo is thinking. AI has them spooked. And they have a master plan. om.co/2026/01/01/w...

You don’t need a lot of light to look resplendent. I see this car on my daily walk. And a couple of days ago, the light was just right. And that inspired the capture and the edit. Made with my iPhone 16 Pro Max. Edited with Lightroom.

History too is always changing with times.
“History is not what happened two hundred or two thousand years ago. It is a story about what happened two hundred or two thousand years ago. The stories change, as do the sight lines available to the tellers of the tales. To read three histories of the British Empire, one of them published in 1800, the others in 1900 and 2000, is to discover three different British Empires on which the sun eventually sets. The must-see tourist attractions remain intact—Napoleon still on his horse at Waterloo, Queen Victoria enthroned in Buckingham Palace, the subcontinent fixed to its mooring in the Indian Ocean—but as to the light in which Napoleon, the queen, or India are to be seen, accounts differ.” Lewis H. Lapham

My favorite camera is my iPhone. When I am out and about in the city, I use my phone to capture moments that appear special to me. And other times I use it to make landscapes. Here is a set of photos I made during 2024. 🧵 #iphone #photography

Yesterday was the official start of winter in the US. Or so they tell me :) Here is a photo from a lovely trip I took to Yellowstone earlier this year. A light palette cleanser of “snowfall” before the real thing. 🙃 #leicaq3

The Other: But no less iconic. No less majestic. No less useful. More importantly, it is equally amazing in fog. Made with Leica Q3

In this week’s edition of my newsletter, CrazyStupidTech, I posted a reported essay on the future of browsers in the age of AI, with reflections on their past, and their role in our multi-device, machine-first, information-dense extended reality.
