The animal spawning is based on certain conditions, for example if there is no pollution nearby or a tree that the animal likes. But there is also some randomness to make it a bit more surprising.

Thank you. interesting question! I do occasionally consume (and enjoy) dystopian fiction, however I felt there is a lack of games with a hopeful vision. While it does have its limitations, you use technology in the game to achieve positive change. But the real change starts with the player.
