I have ADHD. I ordered one. It’s debatable whether this is because I have a problem with impulse purchases, or because I can see it will be potentially really useful for capturing random ideas before I forget them again. I think it’s probably both!

I’m amazed they’ve made a Ted Lasso Season 4, when S3 was one of the most spectacular nose dives in quality I’ve ever seen in a TV show. S1&2 were fantastic but S3 was a train wreck. Hopefully S4 is a return to the perfect 20m sitcom episodes, rather than the terrible 40m meandering dramas of S3.

With iOS Shortcuts, does anyone know if there is an Action to check if a particular App is installed, that does not rely on a third-party app? I need a built-in method so that my Shortcut doesn't simply throw an error if an Action from that App is unavailable, and can instead fail gracefully.

The Odyssey in IMAX was breathtaking - a great movie! It was also WAY TOO FUCKING LOUD. On several occasions I had to put my fingers in my ears because it actually hurt, and looking around I was not alone. Cineworld UK need to sort their sound levels - they are for sure damaging customer’s hearing.

20yrs? I had no idea that Reddit has even been around that long, but back in the day I was a Digg fan and didn’t think much of Reddit. (Clearly I backed the wrong horse in that race! 🤣). I was late to the party - only 13yrs. I recall what finally got me to join was an AMA for the original Pebble!

2/ Read-only Shortcuts would be perfect for preventing less technical users from breaking things by mistake. It would make it easier to sell complex Shortcuts, and release update.

1/ Apple Shortcuts really need to support publishing a read-only version for public use. Think the difference between a word doc and a PDF. Read-only Shortcuts could allow particular fields to be changed for customization (like PDF forms), but the main Shortcut would be uneditable.

Yeah, I can imagine the mic and button does make things a lot more complicated versus a fully enclosed device like my Oura ring. That said, I do hope that the next version can be made slightly more water resistant - at least so you shouldn’t need to worry for showering and brief, shallow submersion.

I do understand this is a 1st gen product, and should expect some 1st gen rough edges, but I do hope that if/when an Index 02 happens, you guys can target better waterproofing. If it can’t be recharged, ideally I want it to be a device that doesn’t need to be removed simply to shower/wash hands etc

“If it breaks get a new one” is not exactly the reassurance I was hoping for. Needing to remember to remove the ring to shower and wash hands is something I really hoped to avoid with the Index 01 - my Pebble Round died back in the day after I accidentally wore it in the shower.

4/ If it turns out that we constantly need to remove it to shower, do the dishes, wash hands etc. that does kind of go against the selling point of a device that is always with you, that you never need to take off, be it to charge it or to prevent it from getting wet.

2/ Checking the Index 01 specs on the website, it said specifically that showering with the ring is possible. Presumably the risk of getting soap in the mic hole is something that Pebble watches are vulnerable to as well, no? Those are okay for showering. Is the ring more vulnerable ?

How durable and water-resistant is it?
It's primarily made from stainless steel 316, with a liquid silicone rubber (LSR) button. It's water-resistant to 1 meter. You can wash your hands, do dishes, and shower with it on, but we don't recommend swimming with it.

Specs for Pebble Index 01.

Regarding Water Resistance it says “1M water-resistance (washing hands, showering, getting wet is ok)”

Excellent update. Native “Find My Phone” will be great. It’s one of the few things I miss from Apple Watch. I’m enjoying my P2D and PT2. Looking forward to getting my Index 01 and Round 2 in the next month or so! The new weather app looks great - love that fonts are not too tiny for my ageing eyes!

I'm excited to get mine. Being able to capture todos, notes etc. before my distracted ADHD brain can immediately forget them again could be quite honestly, life-changing. Have you tried it in the shower? It's where ideas come for me only to be forgotten before I can get out and write them down!

Last PebbleOS update for Pebble 2 Duo boosted battery life by almost a week. Median battery life is now 26 days! FYI this only counts devices that are connected by Bluetooth to Pebble mobile app, and have analytics enabled. More improvements for PT2 in the works!

I had thought of this already, but as I understand it, Mail Drop is pretty basic in that I only lets you are a task with a title and note to your inbox for organizing later, correct? I’m assuming there is no way way to set tags, projects, and set defer/planned/due dates in the email?

Great idea. My only issue with it is that I had been following @repebble.com with notifs turned on to be kept informed of Pebble news. I have had to turn them off because I am now getting notifications every time someone uses the bot to lookup a watchface. Would prefer a unique account 4 it.
