ollieread @ollieread.com · 26/06/2026This may quite honestly be the longest and most in-depth article I've ever written. Prepare yourselves for a brain dump of all data-isolation strategies for multitenanted web applications! 030
ollieread @ollieread.com · 17/11/2025So, I'm writing a JWT auth package for Laravel, and I've decided to first build a JWT generator package for Laravel. This is 1-2 hours work, and it's a POC which should work for any JWT generation in Laravel. github.com/ollieread/la... #laravel 130
ollieread @ollieread.com · 28/06/2025This may be the lengthiest, and wordiest article I've written in quite some time. It's not even strictly about #laravel or #php! 010
ollieread @ollieread.com · 28/05/2025Who doesn't want to express an entire d20-based game system as JSON? 100
ollieread @ollieread.com · 22/05/2025Just pushed an update including a little notice for Laravel Octane users, and what I hope to be a UX improvement on the code insights. They should now be more obvious without hovering. 000
ollieread @ollieread.com · 21/05/2025I've added many new insights for this article. So far, it's just classes, methods and properties, though I'm considering adding some for things like Eloquent events. 000
ollieread @ollieread.com · 19/05/2025My next #laravel article is a long one. It's all about adding a minimal identity map for your Eloquent models in your application. 010
ollieread @ollieread.com · 02/05/2025I may need to put some more thought into the more complex ones, as they can be a bit much over content. 000
ollieread @ollieread.com · 02/05/2025I added some light insight/tooltips for articles where I reference a particular class, or method, etc. 110
ollieread @ollieread.com · 02/05/2025You know what, I'm just going to write articles using HTML and Blade. The faffing to style markdown output, or customise the markup it generates, is annoying. This is quick, and simple. I am not sure why I didn't do this before. 100
ollieread @ollieread.com · 28/04/2025I can't actually find a media outlet that isn't either right-wing, or right-wing aligned that's talking about this. I'm not sure what that means exactly, but I'm sure it means something. 010
ollieread @ollieread.com · 25/04/2025Need to ensure there's only one entry in an array that matches given criteria, using Laravel? That's easy, just use arsehole. 😂 150
ollieread @ollieread.com · 08/04/2025Thank you. I'm delighted with how well it turned out, especially since it was an idea that popped into my head Saturday morning. The buttons are extremely satisfying! 010
ollieread @ollieread.com · 08/04/2025I spent some time this past weekend, making a vanilla CSS (well SaSS) retro-style pixelart UI kit for an idle browser-game I want to make. It’s about managing a slime farm. #ui #pixelart #css #pbbg 130
ollieread @ollieread.com · 18/03/2025Decided on some non-screen based creativity tonight. From left to right.. Patricia the troll of overgrowth Duke the troll of cheeseburgers & gherkins And Harvey the troll of business 000
ollieread @ollieread.com · 03/03/2025Last one, I promise. I tell you what, after this I'll have a bunch of UK themed icons 😅 010
ollieread @ollieread.com · 03/03/2025Something like this? Though, it's making me think I should do my taxes 😅 100
ollieread @ollieread.com · 03/03/2025I think the original looks more like a casserole dish combined with an old kettle. This is more Teapot! 130
ollieread @ollieread.com · 02/03/2025I'm happy with the design for the Sprout site, but I'm not 100% sold on the content of the site. I think it needs more, but I'm really not a "marketing" content person. Anyone have any suggestions? sprout.ollieread.com 221
ollieread @ollieread.com · 26/02/2025What started out last night as me messing around and talking about "multitenancy-as-a-service", I've stumbled into something possibly interesting. So I'm going to explore it. Why not. #laravel #multitenancy 010
ollieread @ollieread.com · 06/02/2025I'm redoing the documentation ahead of the v1 release of @sprout.ollieread.com next week! I've streamlined and simplified it massively! #laravel #multitenancy 000
ollieread @ollieread.com · 05/02/2025Taking a look at a Laravel package. Open up the readme, bam, @cmorrell.com staring straight into my soul. 030
ollieread @ollieread.com · 31/01/2025I guess I've got no choice but to test this functionality now then 😅 111
ollieread @ollieread.com · 25/01/2025Fun fact: Laravel does not allow hyphens in the name of route parameters, and rather than actually check and complain, it just assumes you want the URI to look like that. 010
ollieread @ollieread.com · 25/01/2025I REALLY wanted to add feature tests for Sprout, but honestly, I don't feel like debugging all the testing tools. The route exists, it's why it didn't error when using the route helper, but it doesn't exist if I want to use it. I can't be arsed with this tbh 120
ollieread @ollieread.com · 13/12/2024Hmm, those images don't display correctly. Hopefully this is better. 100
ollieread @ollieread.com · 13/12/2024I really like the idea of cubes for the logo of a project (called Matter), but I can't decide how to go about laying them out...hmm 110
ollieread @ollieread.com · 12/12/2024It also supports "Characteristic" attributes that are basically just instantiated and attached to the field using the attribute class. They may or may not have values, and in most cases will be specific to a datasource, save for these default ones. 000
ollieread @ollieread.com · 12/12/2024You can register mappings for specific types, as well as classes. If there isn't one present for the class, there are special use-cases for "Stringable" and "JsonSerializable". It _will_ also handle "components" which are basically mapped classes that aren't quite entities. Think value objects. 100
ollieread @ollieread.com · 12/12/2024The basic "Field" attribute will work fine, providing there's a type mapping for the class. The extra attributes "DateTimeField" and "BoolField" (not used in the example), exist so you can provide options. I'm using it there to test that it works. 210
ollieread @ollieread.com · 12/12/2024I found myself in a situation where I'd needed to just build something, just for the sake of building something, so I threw together an implementation of an idea I had. It's a PHP 8.4 datasource-agnostic datamapper. #php #opensource 133
ollieread @ollieread.com · 22/11/2024Ah, my favourite part of a new #PHP release. The hundreds of deprecation errors from running a single line of code with virtually no dependencies. 210
ollieread @ollieread.com · 14/11/2024I'm blocked by 8 people, and based on the lists I'm on, some of these are entirely because I don't post porn… 010
ollieread @ollieread.com · 07/11/2024I've finally started pushing some Sprout documentation! I'm writing this all between looking for work and doing house and life chores, but we're getting closer to a v1 launch! #sprout #laravel #multitenancy 000
