I read query letters first, so it’s great when they provide a clear understanding of the protagonist, the conflict, and the stakes with the sample pages matching the proposed tone, grounding the setting and the protagonist, and containing a strong voice. (2/2)

It can play a part in my thinking, but for the most part, a strong manuscript in a "difficult" market is far more attractive than one that doesn't stand out in a trending market. (2/2)

A few tips on writing an effective synopsis! Whenever I come across a well-written synopsis, I just get that much more excited to keep reading more of a manuscript!

Every agent is different, but many, including myself, invite resubmits! Since the querying process has such a learning curve and the writing process is constant, I'll never discourage rewrites. As for timing, there's no set time to re-query since every writer is on their own timeline!
