In 1966, this Victorian Gothic gem—the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel—was nearly demolished by British Rail. 🚂 Thanks to a campaign it gained Grade I protection. Abandoned for years, it reopened in 2011, restored to glory. 🏰 #LondonHistory

Elrington Station, once a rural stop on the Hexham to Allendale #railway line, was active from 1867 to 1950. It served local communities and industries but closed as passenger numbers dwindled. Today, some buildings remain, repurposed as a private residence. 🚂
