Well, I just heard that Walter Wigand passed away a week ago. For those who never heard of him, he was the german voice of Salty, Captain and Cranky in the original show. He even voiced Cranky (alongside the Troublesome Trucks) in the reboot.

Honestly I think Gordon's final model is better than pilot model, mainly because, in the pilot, the dip in Gordon's running board looks more like a slide, which is not accurate to the original illustrations or his basis at all and Gordon's pilot faces are a bit unsettling at times.
