An awesome talk from @jrothwell.bsky.social at @iosdevuk.bsky.social on why "Everyone Hates Programmers Now (but how do we fix it?)". Some really useful takeaways include viewing your whole system, avoiding giving users more admin, showing your working and adapting your app to the environment.

UK's stripped back high-speed link set to become the most expensive rail line in the world., with further delays and higher costs expected when new timetable is announced today

»New cost estimates for beleaguered 140-mile rail line likely to reach around £100bn - more than Nasa's £79bn projected cost for its Artemis mission to land astronauts on the Moon

» Transport Secretary expected to announce cost-saving measures such as slower speeds, and the completion date will likely be pushed back, with trains running to Birmingham by 2035
