Developed in the ’80s, CDP is one of the wildest sound-design toolkits, and it’s now available as a free Ableton Live Extension! I used Reverse Grain Order to transform percussion loops and the Harmoniser to create unexpected vocal ear candy.

TIL i moved pretty much next door to the epicentre of Berlin School Electronic Music in the 1970s. Where Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze recorded some classic albums www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xe4...

With the SKIA backend in iPlug2, it's pretty easy to just drop in shaders (SKIA has it's own SkSL shading language which is like GLSL). This one that was recently shared to the skia mailing list is pretty cool. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUsF...

GPT-4-0 Imagegen is good for UI assets, icons etc as well as memes. Can do transparency, etc. Even makes knobs that go to 11:

RIP Angelo Farina, who developed the sine sweep technique used widely for IR capture in convolution reverbs amongst other things. A few weeks ago we also lost Dave Malham, a former colleague who developed HOA/Ambisonics theory in the 90s, and was a friend of prof Farina. Audio Engineering legends.

Too many VSTs to learn, too many hacks to hack, too many banging suno songs to tweak... option paralysis is real

Apple’s coreaudio system is really a masterpiece of engineering. Incredibly forward thinking r.e. spatial audio and complex routing capabilities that have been there since ages

I remember when I first got into audio programming how hostile and scary IRC servers like music-dsp on efnet seemed to a newbie. I really like that discord is so much more friendly. Our 500th user just joined the iPlug2 discord, which is nice. discord.gg/BKx8G8XmBF
