After looking over my PS5 Pro captures again, I'm less confident about leaning TSR on the PS5 Pro upscaler. In particular, there's one shot that shows a known PSSR issue, with disappearing rain.

I've been playing more MTG recently after a long break and did pretty well in the Arena qualifier weekend. 4-0 in the only play-in I tried yesterday and 5-3 during the qualifier today playing mono green stompy.

Addendum to this video: both PS5 Pro RT modes do feature some environmental RT reflections on very glossy transparent surfaces. These tend to be tucked away on concession machines and certain doorways, and don't generally apply to larger transparent faces like building windows.

Here's some of the DLSS 5 material we saw in the demos but didn't get a chance to film. Here I think you can see the strengths of DLSS 5 - reflections become much more attractive. Starfield doesn't have great lighting to begin with, so the differences can be profound.

Image quality isn't exactly the same, but there's enough commonality with the upgraded PSSR that I would be shocked if it isn't an iteration of the new upscaler. There are some interesting differences between 1.00 and 1.1.0 but the image treatment is largely identical.

I've seen a lot of speculation online that the unpatched disc version of RE Requiem uses PSSR 1. As far as I can tell, this isn't the case. In a variety of shots the image treatment on the pre-patch and post-patch versions look very similar.

My top music for 2025 from Apple Music Replay ! This is what gets me through many hundreds of hours of video edits every year. These days mostly pop music that is sort of hyperpop adjacent. About 69,000 minutes total.

t.co/37huD6Q9mT Lots of details here, but key takeaway (for me) is that day one MS games have gone from $17/mo one year ago to $30/mo today. Some marginal benefits to the cost increase, but the catalog expansion is not impressive.

Super easy iPhone 17 Pro pickup experience at the beautiful new Apple store in Vancouver. I don’t mind the orange, but silver feels neutral and nostalgic.

Big improvements to draw distance on Akiva in the new Star Wars Outlaws patch - looks much better now! Seems like the day 1 code was bugged. (Ignore image quality/performance as this is internally recorded footage.)

This is a little painful - hopefully things ease up over the beta period!

This situation is getting more interesting - yet another Switch 2 game with automatic resolution/setting adjustment based on output res. I believe there are 5 games so far that do this to my knowledge:

A little worn out after 6 hours in line, but I’m excited to start testing and reviewing!

I managed to get a Switch 2 pre-order! Just took a few hours waiting and chatting outside on a lovely Vancouver day.

Some weird stuff going on at Nintendo. Looks like they've changed their US website to no longer mention VRR support for TV play? Only HDR and 120Hz support get a call-out.

Happy birthday to one of the most impactful games of all time! A little scary that I’ve been playing WoW for 20 years now.
