For years and years I've used a niddy noddy that my friend made for me (from some furniture part I believe). Now I have a louet with a skein winder attached and it's much easier for my hand. The spinning wheel was a gift, and I found a second hand skein winder for it.

Fabulous wool festival Mo'dlaine in Valgrisenche (AO). Organized by people who work and love wool. It was my 7th year there, very happy to come back every year.

On Sunday I will be in Valgrisenche for Mo'delaine, a wool festival. It's a great event in a very beautiful place up in the mountains in Aosta valley. Each year they give us a colourful sheep pin. I have six already and I wonder which colour it will be this year 🐑

Cipolla is my oldest and smallest sheep. She was born at 4 months(instead of 5)very small, with eyes and ears closed, like a kitten. She was rejected by her mother, bottle fed, broke her leg (she walks badly). She's the smallest and gets bullied by the others. And she never gives up, never stays

A new flock of sheep has arrived! Soon I will dress them in brown and white hand spun wool. They are made by hand by my neighbour Remo, farmer and wood artist. He makes them in some spare time while his goats graze.

Madder red yarn getting dry on the balcony. I used solar heat and rain water to dye it. I'm lucky to have such a big reservoir for rain water, I still use winter rains to dye my yarn.
