Professor of Philosophy. I write about philosophy and logic – sometimes seriously, sometimes with a touch of humour.

Today, my students and I discussed Carnap’s critique of Heidegger. A question arose: which philosophical path is right, Plato’s or Aristotle’s? Raphael placed them side by side in his fresco. Western intellectual culture thrives through their coexistence, rivalry, and interaction. #philosophy

On John Dewey’s birthday, three ideas are worth recalling: education is part of life, not merely preparation for it; we learn by doing; and thinking begins when we face problems without ready-made answers. His ideas profoundly shaped modern education. #philosophy

On Marsilio Ficino’s birthday, a curious legend: he and a friend agreed that whoever died first would report on the afterlife. After Ficino’s death, his friend supposedly saw him on a white horse, shouting, “It’s true!” A true philosopher shares his findings even after death. In person!))

I watched Digger. Pros: Cruise gives a strong performance, the film raises important issues, and its aesthetics are intriguing. Cons: the director reduces a complex problem to a generational conflict and once again adopts an America-centric worldview.

Today marks 100 years since the birth of philosopher Michel Foucault. Of his many fascinating ideas, I find one particularly intriguing—and disturbing: truth is not simply discovered but produced, and this process cannot be separated from power and its mechanisms. #philosophy

Sartre argued that human beings are fundamentally free and responsible for their choices. D’Holbach, by contrast, believed that our actions are determined by causes beyond our control. Who was right – Sartre, d’Holbach, or do you have a better view? #philosophy #WSocialPhilosophy

Despite Trump's pressure on the Nobel Committee, he has once again failed to win the Nobel Peace Prize this year. I think he should be worrying about the prospect of impeachment rather than the Peace Prize.

Descartes asks us to imagine an evil demon powerful enough to deceive us about the world, our bodies, even mathematics. If everything you experience could be an illusion, is there anything you could still know with absolute certainty? #philosophy #WSocialPhilosophy

I’m preparing a video about Ludwig Wittgenstein’s remarkable life. For example, he moved from aeronautical engineering to philosophy, volunteered for the front, gave away almost all his wealth, and tried teaching primary school. Strange that so few feature films have been made about him #philosophy

Locke’s locked room: someone willingly stays in a room, unaware that the door is locked. The choice is voluntary, yet leaving was never possible. If freedom requires the ability to do otherwise, was the person free at all? #philosophy

Philosophers have given very different answers to the question, “What makes a life worth living?” Some point to happiness, others to virtue, love, freedom, achievement, meaning, or service to others. What would your answer be? #philosophy

A Renaissance allegory of Philosophy (1460s): not an old scholar with a book, but a young Athena with spear and aegis. Philosophy appears here as armed wisdom – reason capable of defending truth, resisting error, and intellectually equipping us. #philosophy

On this day in 1632, John Locke was born. A major figure of modern philosophy, he shaped debates on knowledge, personal identity, natural rights, religious toleration, and political liberty. His ideas remain central to philosophy and political thought.
