![Thinking of [redacted] brought a restless sadness that ached deep, relentless as a bone bruise. He paced the small bedroom, needing to go somewhere and having nowhere to go, finally throwing open the window as wide as it would go. Brestil spread out to either side of $NAME Bay from Maxwell’s viewpoint, streetlights just starting to flare to life in the rosy fade of sunset. The Troubled Point Lighthouse was just visible to the northwest, the bay giving way to the deeper, rougher waters where the $NAME Ocean met with the Green Sea.
He leaned out over the clay-tiled roof of his sister’s apartment, taking in a deep breath. The breeze off the Green Sea was sticky with salt spray, too warm to cut the summer heat. Almost he caught the faint scent of fresh rain and a heady scent of familiar blossoms. His head turned on its own accord, chasing the elusive smell that reminded him of [redacted].
