As an old white lady, I'm reflecting on my personal history in the fight for rights. I've been a party to discrimination in the workplace, the halls of power, and even family dynamics. But...thanks to those who came before me, I've never felt the need to fight for acknowledgement as a human being.

Does anyone remember back in January, when Pentagon 'insiders' were leaking that they were trying to distract Trump from his focus on Greenland and urging him to focus on Iran instead? Well, I can see his toddler-brain getting bored with Iran now and turning back to his Greenland obsession.

Today I'm feeling inspired by my pink-haired, flamboyant son who is thriving in a community he built for himself... overcoming the hate of a society my generation built and the suicidal ideation of his teens (before he began his transition). We CAN transition our society, if we're strong enough.

This is how we can make a difference. With all the commentary about Matt Gaetz, we are again failing to hit the target on messaging. Using 'exploited minor', 'sex worker', etc. REALLY misses the target on the disgusting truth. Matt Gaetz paid to have sex with a child. Full Stop. Say it that way.

I took a week away from the news, podcasts and toxic twitter to REALLY focus on the important things...my health, family, pets. It gave me time to re-center myself on my solid foundation of moral decency and belief that 90% of people are good - or at least worth an effort to understand.
